How difficult would it be to make a reservation for two or three 2 bedrooms at VWL seven months out for the week before Chirstmas next year? Is this next to impossible - should I find a VWL member to transfer my points to?

Just try! I just gave up yesterday our 1BR ressie for Dec.19-24. You never know what is in MS computer! Good Luck!

For Christmas of 2003 they had at least one studio available. Our relatives decided that they wanted to go with us at about six months out. Sure enough, we were able to get them a room. The week after Christmas is much harder to come by than the week before.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if you transfer your points to another DVC owner, your points retain their home resort and use year status. So, if you transfer your OKW points to a VWL member, they can't use those points to book your rooms for you, they'd have to use their own VWL points. Since you're looking for so many rooms (and using so many points) you might have to find multiple VWL members who'd be willing to trade points with you. Also, that might be a problem, since I think you can only transfer points once, meaning multiple transfers aren't allowed.

Put your name on the wait list for VWL but you should also get reservations some place else or put your name on the wait list for another resort. Something will probably come up.
