We will be staying in a 1 bedroom at VWL week of May 24th.

As this will be our first stay at the VWL, are there any specific room requests that I should ask for that have the best views or sections?
Also, do they also have a quiet pool or do they share the same pool with the WL resort? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As always, thank you so much.

Mimmie :)

Hi Mimmie,

It's pretty hard to get a bad view in a 1BR at VWL, but if I were you I would request to be near the elevators (which keeps you closer to the very quiet VWL lobby) and ask for a lake view. Then you can see the Electric Water Parade every night from your balcony on Bay Lake. Having a higher floor helps with this too.

VWL does have its own lovely quiet pool, separate from the WL main pool.

Enjoy your trip!

Which lake view rooms give you a clear view of the lake. All we ever see are trees with a hint of lake.

Trees block most of the views on both sides of the resort - one side faces the lake, the other side faces the parking lot - so you usually get a glint of sun off the water through the trees or a glint of sun off windshields - and they look pretty much the same....

When we did our VWL the front desk clerk had no clue (or didn't let on) that she had any idea which side was which - we asked for the lake, we got the lake, but she didn't know.

The resort is pretty small, long hallways aren't that big of an issue.

The 'community' pool is pretty cool with jets at the bottom to create a "bubbling spring." No slide. Hottub. Pretty deep all over.

We have stayed there often, and we have never had a clear lake view or a good view of the Electric Water Parade from the room. I thought that maybe there were room that we didn't know about. :confused3

got a nice view of the lake and pool for that matter.

you can't see most of the EWP from VWL - you need to go to the beach at WL to see it.

there are some partially clear lake views further down - because of the hurricanes - at least until the trees grow back.

do lake view first, then ask for near the elevators.

the other side has the service building plus the bus stop.

This is a pretty typical "lake view"...

As you can see in this satellite photo (VWL is the red roof, WL is the green roof), VWL is pretty much surrounded by trees on all sides. This also provides a good layout of the quiet pool and main pool.
