VWL to Contemporary?

I know we can take a boat over to the Contemporary from the WL dock, but does anyone know...

How often it runs?
How long the ride will take? (Does it go to Fort Wilderness, too after picking up at WL?)
How late can we take a boat back to VWL? (We plan on California Grill one night.)

Thanks!

The boats run about every 20 minutes ............there are two boats that run the Contemporary, WL, FW loop........ One boat goes clockwise and the other boat goes counterclockwise, if that makes any sense! The boat coming from FW will pick up at WL and then head to the Contemporary. If you get on that boat, the ride will take no more than 5 minutes or so. If the boat comes from the Contemporary to WL then it has to go to FW before heading back to the Contemporary. That ride will take a bit longer.......probably at least 15 to 20 minutes. The drivers of the boat announce which resort they are heading to next so just check with them to be sure they are heading to the Cont. next if you don't want a long boat ride to FW first. Another option, if the weather is poor, is to ride the big boat to MK (since it has an inside part to it) and then catch the monorail or take the bus to TTC and hop the monorail. The boats that bring you to the resorts are all open with no closed in section.

I can't remember what times the boat quits running, but if you are going to be late, catch the monorail to TTC and then a boat back to WL. I'm pretty sure this can be done but you might want to confirm that first.

There is a boat from TTC to WL? Or do you mean bus?

Thanks for your help. Think it would be faster to wait for the direct boat to Contemporary even if the other boat that goes to FW is first? Or no?

I had planned on giving us thirty minutes to get over to the Contemporary for a PS. I guess I need to adjust that. We'll be doing a tour earlier that day so I'm trying to figure out exactly how much time we'll have to go change for dinner.

Thanks!

We were there last Feb. with our kids, and I think it "would be a wash" whether you wait for the other boat or just take the one that stops at FW first. The stop at FW isn't that long.

I might give it more than 30 minutes to be on the safe side, but I doubt it will be more than that.

Have fun!

So I just mentioned this thread to my husband and his recollection is that not every boat stops at the contemporary. And truth be told, I only remember going to the contemp once, and the boat went there and no where else.

The contemp isn't really part of "the loop" I don't think. I think there is a designated boat that goes there.

Hmmm.....

Oops! I meant bus!! Sorry!

I also want to add that we traveled frequently by boat to FW and the Cont. during our last 7 stays. The smaller open boats run the loop to only WL, FW, and the Contemporary. While the larger boats only go to WL, FW, and MK. The only exception to this rule is when MK closes and all boats run from MK to WL and FW if needed to handle the crowds. ::yes::

Something is in the back of my head on this one Shan....If I recall correctly you will need to take a smaller boat with a blue flag (the green ones go between FW, WL and MK) whilst the Blue one is the resorts boat that goes from WL to CR

30-45 minutes total time should work for Dinner at CR leaving from WL

Cheers
