Which do people like better? I've stayed at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, and loved it. Thinking of staying at the Boardwalk Villas... Anyone have any opinion?

What did you like best about VWL? If it was the quietness, BWV is more lively and the place is hopping. You will be close to theme parks at BWV like you are at VWL.

If you liked the rustic decor at VWL, BWV will be more cutesy. But if you think VWL is rather dark, BWV will be lighter.

Hi johnf0614,
I have stayed at both and while I enjoyed both for different reasons WL will always be my favorite. I like WL for the reasons Deb & Bill mentioned, the quietness and rustic decor. BW can not be beat for location and things to do. I would say it depends on if you want a laid back feel close to MK or a more lively feel close to Epcot and HS. Either way I don't think you can go wrong. :thumbsup2

Agree with the above posters....VWL are calm..close to the MK...while the BWV...are in the middle of the action and close to Epcot and the Studios.....not sure if you have kids and their ages but that may make a difference in where you'd like to stay....we own at both....and when our kids were younger they like VWL better ...now they are 20 & 23 and would rather stay at BWV

IMHO, one of the best things about the DVC resorts in WDW is the opportunity to sample each one and enjoy their uniqueness. Over the years, I've stayed at each and have enjoyed their differences. Yes, there are some that I prefer over others, but much of that has to do with when I go and what type of vaction I'm looking for. Sometimes, I'll do a split-stay; other times, I'll stay put in one place.
Having those choices is one of the aspects of DVC that I value so much. :thumbsup2, so why not try someplace new? :confused3

We own points at both VWL and BWV. They are very different resorts, but each has its own charm and benefits. Go ahead and try the BWV...the worst that could happen is it just isn't your cup of tea.

We have stayed at both...
BWL - We love the convenience of walking to EPCOT and Disney Studios.
VWL - We love the piece and quite.

While I love VWL and it is my home resort I love the fact that you can walk to illuminations in the evenings from BWV"s It's one of my favorite things to do!

Personally I think everyone should try each resort and see how they like it. Only then will you truly know.

We did, and now we know where we are happiest.

With that being said, I love, love, love the VWL during the holiday season.

I also love how close BWV are to EPCOT (our favorite park).

Pros for VWL:
*close to MK
*beautiful grounds
*small
*quiet DVC pool area
*great on-sight restaurants

Cons for VWL: (not many)
*Not within walking distance to a park
*sometimes the water taxi and buses can be crowded and the wait can be a while.

Pros for BWV:
*within walking distance to two parks
*great for walking after EPCOT closes (no crowds)
*within walking distance to EPCOT's excellent restaurants
*the option of using points for different views is nice
*the BWV is very bright and lively

Cons for BWV: (not a lot)
*no restaurant on site (however, there are some really nice restaurants on the bw and you are very close to EPCOT)
*pool can get a little crowded
*parking can be a little far (only if you have a car and plan on using it daily)

Overall~I truely believe you really can't go wrong with either place. They are both unique and lovely in their own way.

Since you have not stayed at the BWV before, you may want to try something new...just a thought!

Have a wonderful time!!!!

Thank you! I decided on the BWV.. Can't wait!

I have stayed at all resorts short of one, and I still have trouble making up my mind!

On our family's last trip we had a split stay -- VWL then BWV. (We own at BWV.) Now maybe I'm biased, but I was much happier at BWV. First of all, the room was so much lighter and brighter. It really made a difference to me, surprisingly, considering we usually don't spend that much time in the room. Also, I think the convenience of being able to walk to TWO parks (DHS and Epcot) just can't be beat.

Just my two cents:)

DVCDawn :tink:

VWL! VWL! VWL!!

Oh, I'm sorry... what was the question again?

I agree, disneybride96 - that's the problem! We want to try each one but keep wanting to go back to our favorites. What a dilemma :rotfl:

That said, we prefer the BWV as it is right in the middle of the action. But, if was near Christmas, then VWL might win.

But you already decided. Enjoy your first stay at the Boardwalk!

We have stayed at both. We thought BWV was the be all end all until we stayed at VWL. We were blown away and will use our BWV points at VWL whenever possible!!

We love them both!! We've stayed at BWV more since its our home and we can boat or walk to two parks plus we love walking into Epcot for dinner. But that boat ride to MK is very cool too, along with being able to boat over to FW for a HDDR show and my DD loves to boat over to the CR to shop.

VWL!! We stayed BWV 09 and were happy only because we were at Disney. The rooms don't even compare. Noisy, outdated and a 15 minute walk if you end up with a room near the end of the horse shoe like we did! another 5 if you are at the END. We didn't get much sleep the whole week long because of the "neighbors" We could hear EVERYTHING. The buses take forever to come around and forever to get where you are going. They stop at several resorts, Swan, Dolphin, SS and one or two more. It was not a busy time at all. 2nd week of Jan. Very low crowd. If you are thinking of staying near Epcot-BC is the one to choose(We had friends staying across there while we were staying BW) You can walk right over to Epcot and all the action at BW in just a couple minutes. The rooms are much nicer than BW. Boats go right to HS and is a nice little ride....MUCH better than the buses. But you still have to take the bus to MK, AK. We've stayed several Disney resorts and VWL and AK are AMAZING!! Cozy and relaxed after a long Disney day:) Just try to stay on the front side (lobby) of AK or it can be a long walk to your room too! Buses come one right after another and didn't stop at any other resorts. We are having trouble deciding between BLT, BC and AK this coming trip. We will have a 2 year old when we go and I want the convenience of the monorail! But love the other two resorts :confused3 Have fun whatever you choose!
