VWL - Internet

Hello,

I will be going down to the VWL from July 5th to the 12th and I am sadly going to have to complete some important reports for work.

I believe that as a DVC member I will have free Internet access in my room. My question is , will I have to bring a network cable to connect my laptop, or is there one that comes with the room? Also, does the WL have wireless access available anywere on property?

There should be an ethernet cable in a bag in the closet. If missing, contact mousekeeping.

Yes, all DVC members have access to free wired Internet in all the DVC resorts. Wireless Internet is not listed in the amenities for any of the DVC resorts (even for those that are combo hotel/DVC, such as VWL).

I took my wireless router from home and connected it in the room and it worked like a charm. We've gotten rather spoiled to being wireless at home, plus we had more than one laptop with us.

As you were looking for "wireless access available anywhere on property", which seems to imply that you would want it at a pool, the lobby or at a restaurant in VWL - a wireless router plugged in in your room isn't going to help reach that far (unless your balcony overlooks a pool).

There is a glitch in the onscreen billing. It says you are still being charged, but
it is free. We just came back, from VWL, and ran into that while we were there.

Got back from AKV this week and the front screen does say a charge but underneath says not applicable for DVC members We never got a charge for using the internet
