VWL for WLV

When did VWL become the abbreviation for WLV-Wilderness Lodge Villas?? Somehow it happened, but why and when. I always used WLV!!!

On Disney's Vacation Club website they advertise it as The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge - - hence, VWL.

Thanks Joc--there are a few golf clubs in the area that have done that also calling themselves the Country Club of XXX rather than XXX Country Club. I think I will stick to WLV like it was when they opened.

VWL has been this way since the early Disney Literature. Every reference I've found in anything Disney has put out has always called it Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. Even in the promotional stuff I found before it was even built.

Though, that has never stopped me from using WLV every so often!

Where did you ever see it referred to as Wilderness Lodge Villas? (by Disney, I mean)

Maybe because there's Wilderness Lodge (the resort), it would be natural to assume DVC would call it Wilderness Lodge Villas (like Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club Villas)? Also, the name Wilderness Lodge Villas seems to flow better than Villas at Wilderness Lodge (to me anyway).

Tagrel--I don't think you are curious, -for starters--on this site in the abbreviations section you will find Wilderness Lodge Villas and the abbreviations you will see WLV, it makes more sense and easier to look up then having Villas at theXXX especially for people that may not know the twist in the name--Birnbaum's realizes this also and uses Wilderness Lodge Villas in its directory however does switch to Villas at Wilderness Lodge--Is everyone happy

Pa@okw95-- I don't think you should pass judgement on others.

Your other post implied that Disney changed the name. I was just trying to find where and when that happened.

Public sites and individuals can call it anything they like, but everything I ever saw from Disney used Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. I'm sorry that you can't find it either, but that doesn't make it right to take it out on me.
