Just booked Wilderness lodge villas for February 9-13, 2011, was wondering if anyone had had any recomendations on where to request room etc? We have a studio, and have friends also staying in studio. Where are the DVC rooms in the building? I have only been there once to eat at whispering canyon. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

The DVC villas are not part of Wilderness Lodge....they are located in a separate building dedicated to DVC. Most of the views are "woods view" so requests aren't as big of a deal there as other resorts. Some like to request close to the elevators, but it's a small resort so no room is really very far from the elevators.

To further elaborate on Granny's comments, the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge are contained in a separate building to the immediate right of the main lodge and connected via a covered walkway. Outside of a few rooms on the far end of the Villas building which look out over the service area, or a handful that face the walkway, the rooms are fairly equal in terms of views, i.e. woods. A very few look out over the dedicated pool and jacuzzi area, but I don't know if any of the studios do. VWL is a very quiet resort, relatively speaking, with a calming theme of being in the Northwest. Even the walkway is nicely themed with its glowing lanterns and chirping crickets. Enjoy your stay!

If you're interested, you can always use Google Earth to find a satellite picture of VWL. It would give you a good sense of what sort of views are available from most room locations. :thumbsup2

Okay...now you made me feel guilty since I was too lazy to post the aerial view earlier! :rotfl2:

Here's WL and VWL. WL is the green roof and VWL the red roof. You can see that the primary view is....trees! :)
