VWL Cash Discount on 2-bedroom ever?

I tried to search this, but my search doesn't work at work.

I called MS to reserve one night on cash towards the end of June but no discount is available. The guy on the phone said to keep trying back because sometimes it opens up.

Has anyone had success with this? I don't know if I have a chance or not.

It's the smallest DVC resort, so a cash reservation through MS might be tough.

Is it just that the discount isn't available or that no cash rooms are available?

If MS will let you reserve a villa using cash I'd grab that and if the discount is later available they will automatically apply it to your reservation. We've done that on many occasions at several different resorts.

MS's first responsibility is to reserve DVC rooms using points. When they have evidence that rooms will be available or past history suggesting the member occupancy will be available they will release rooms with the discount. Discounted rooms for much of the year won't be available until within 7 months - but again, I'd grab a cash reservation - even if it's at rack rate - and then look for the discount when it opens up. If you do not get the discount you can always cancel the cash room without any penalty if desired.

VWL is the smallest onsite DVC resort (HH is the smallest DVC resort) and does run at a high level of occupancy thru the year, but there are many dates when the member discount will be available.

I got a discounted cash night at VWL for September but I had to call back once a week for two months until they finally released the night with the 25% discount.
