VWL 5th Floor Questions

I've stayed at the VWL several times, but never on the 5th Floor. I was researching for the ultimate room location / view for an upcoming stay and had a couple of specific questions for anyone who may have stayed on the 5th Floor.

Regarding the rooms off the Rotunda, are the ceilings sloped? If so, did this make the room feel more open or closed? How about the enclosed balcony, did you like it more or less over the standard balconies?

It also seems that the enclosed balconies on the 5th floor are recessed in relation to the floors below it. Are the rooms off the Rotunda of the 5th floor shorter than the rooms below?

I know these are some pretty specific questions, but I figured this is the place to ask. Looking at studios 5521 & 5526 in particular or their adjacent 1BR units.

Thanks!

We have stayed on the 5th floor several times, all in 1 beds, and the ceilings are sloped, but cant say if thats true in rotunda, as our only exp. there was on 2nd floor. As for balconies, maybe they are a bit shorter, but as my DW says, it fools you. Depth may be a bit less than below. The wall is the biggest downside as you cant see without standing up, and dusk and dawn will allow for more deer spotting. We have no problem with 4th floor, its not loud, affords you greater views of lake if you are in right spot, and not loud with bumps in the night, though VWL in gen. isnt loud unless you hear someone in hall or excessive heavy footwork above:upsidedow

We've stayed in 5524. First - the rotunda is enclosed at the 5th floor level - just an FYI in case you were unaware.

The ceilings are sloped in those rooms:

I think the recess you may be noting is simply because the balconies are enclosed but I must say we couldn't see over the edge to verify.

The room had all the same furniture in the same locations so any size variation is insignificant except for the fact that the slope does cut in a bit - ie, you couldn't stand up and walk around the entire outer edge of the room like you could in one of the lower floors. Because of this it had a little more cozy feel but the high ceilings are an offset to it.
