I am looking for the BEST VWL 2 bedroom. The most important criteria is that it needs to be non-smoking. I understand that some of the rooms are at the end of a LOOOOOOOONG hall and have laundry room views and truck noise. We would like to avoid the walk and the noise. So, will you let me know which room is the absolute best?? :thanks:

VWL is the smallest DVC. The hallways there are nothing like BWV. Just ask for the view you want, you'll probably get a woods view since the majority of them are woods view. A few have a view of the leisure pool and an even smaller number have a view of the lake through the trees.

I would be hesitant to request a certain room number because you're just setting yourself up for disappointment if you don't get it.

However, we have always requested non-smoking, pool view and have never been disappointed. We've always been pleased with our rooms. Our best though had to be 5519 (I'm 99% sure that was the number). It was a corner room overlooking the quiet pool, top floor. Being on the corner it had a different layout than the usual 2-BRs and the master bedroom had a vaulted ceiling and a private balcony. Being on the corner it also had a lot of windows. We absolutely loved that room, but like I said, we were very happy with other rooms we've had at VWL as well.

I would just request what is most important to you (i.e. non-smoking, view) and be determined not to get your hopes up. Then if you do get something not quite what you were expecting you aren't really disappointed but even better if you do get just what you wanted, you'll be pleasantly suprised.

No matter the room, you're still at WDW, and even better, VWL!!!(Okay, I'm getting jealous now). Have a fun time!

This is an interesting question....
We just returned last night from a 2BR at VWL. It is by far our favorite place to stay. However, this time I requested 1st and foremost, a room near the elevators. I am 30 weeks pregnant and my father just had surgery for a double hernia. I would have thought that would qualify as a "medical" reason for the request. It didn't seem to matter at all. We checked in at 2pm and were told that the only available rooms were literally the last ones down the hallway. So I'm curious to know if requests are taken into consideration or if it's only whatever is available when you check in. We actually did switch rooms the next night to 2528 - a corner right out of the elevators...lovely!

I was told at the desk that we could only change after 2 nights, but received a call the next morning with many more options to change rooms that night. Interesting since that was not offered to me when we checked in. Anyway...they do charge you $40 to move rooms, but when they saw my condition the manager felt badly and waived the fee. Most rooms did seem to be non-smoking. BTW- I counted the steps from room to room to see if it was worth the trouble of switching rooms. I figured we saved about 1 mile of walking....incredible!!

We have stayed at VWL once. I asked for a NS room near the elevator and we had the first room down the hallway from the elevator, The only problem was it overlooked the walkway between the Villas and the Lodge. The rattle and thump thump of rolling baggage carts was loud! Not to mention people going back and forth to the buses..
