Trying to decide between the two for my 4 and 3 year old. If you have either one, what is your opinion???? Thanks!!!

My DD4 has the VSmile and loves it. I was under the impression that the V Motion is for older kids, but you could always check the age recommendations for the games for each one. That might give you an idea of which your children would prefer.

Just wanted to throw this out there: we had the VSmile and the kids never got into it...the graphics were flat/repetitive and so were the games! We tried leapsters (hand held units) and they loved them. The games were so much more entertaining and fun...and educational in such a way that the kids never felt "taught", whereas the VSmile games really drill a concept, via being repetitive.

The VMotion looks fun, but depending on how much of a price difference investing in the system plus games, I would consider getting a WII so the initial investment would be a one time thing w/ great game choices for now through teen years and beyond...plus the whole family could get involved.

Again, I'm not sure how much $$ difference there is, but I would be (and have been!) frustrated when these game systems are not played with because of the games (graphics, engaging, etc) and then outgrown.

We have the vsmile and it was hardly ever used. The joystick thing is hard to use and the games are pretty boring.

I totally agree with everything you said. We ended up selling our VSmile a few years ago because it was NEVER played with. My girls both got leapsters and loved them. Now that they're 7 and 5 we're moving onto the Wii this Christmas.

We have Leapsters, because every single person I know who's tried both the Vsmile and Leapster likes the Leapster much more!

We have a vsmile and I was thinking of getting the vmotion for Christmas. We just got the vsmile and portable vsmile secondhand, but they don't play the vsmile that much. They play the portable vsmile all the time. I don't get why they won't play the same games on the TV, but they love to play on the portable one. Not sure if it has to do with the controls on it versus the joystick on the vsmile. I thought they might like to play on the vmotion and we will get lots of years of usage since our youngest turns 2 this week.

Has anyone got the vmotion? Is it worth it? I saw that it was around $58 at Wal-Mart this week.
