AirbnB has gotten a lot of buzz lately, but everyone I talk to hasn't used it. Everyone swears by VRBO. Thought I would take to the experts: for Orlando accommodations, is one of these booking sites better than the other? Are either of them worth it, given how cheap hotels are near WDW?

I haven't specifically looked at Airbnb for Orlando but have used it in Toronto and NYC - never had an issue. VRBO is good in Orlando from experience. We usually rent with Villa Direct, have you tried them out? We rented from them for 9 or 10 years straight and only stopped because we ventured outside of Orlando for family vacations!

I've used VRBO several times and it's always worked out well. Usually for beach rentals. Not familiar with the other site.

Update: I'm actually renting my house on AirbnB while on vacation. Wish me luck :-)

I have used airbnb several times and I like it. I find it much more user friendly than VBRO. I like to see the pictures of the place and the list of what's included. I also like to read about what the place is close to. The reviews of those who have been there also helps. I also like to see the weekly and monthly rate up front. I have a very hard time finding the weekly and monthly rates on VBRO. VBRO seems to be big on nightly rates and I don't find them to be that good. I like the way the information on each place is presented on airbnb and I find it to be much more reasonable than VBRO.
