Hi there

We book our flights already (Mid August - I know probably could get cheaper rates if waited, but getting anxious).

We are staying offiste at a VRBO, not sure which one yet - so many options.

We will be renting a car.

We plan on visiting

DisneyWorld (8 day non hopper)
Universal (2-3 days)
Seaworld (1 day)
Kennedy Space center

The goal is to make it to park opening when we visit the parks and stay until we see everything or until we are finished. Yes I know some of you will think we are nuts, but that is the way we travel. If we are not exhausted after we come home - then it wasn't a vacation.

Now here is the question

What do you do for meals when you get back to the VRBO?

Do you put something in the crock pot / slow cooker?

Go out to eat?

Other options.

Honestly? All of the above. We eat a couple dinners at the parks. At least one night we go out to a favorite Orlando restaurant. If the villa/condo has a grill, we use it once or twice. And I always pack my crock pot, but we drive. Even made overnight oatmeal once night for breakfast the next morning. I love the crock pot because it's so nice to come back after a long day of walking and have dinner hot and ready.

We usually eat out or bring back carry out. This last trip we took we ate carry out more than anything because it was easiest.

We eat most dinners at our condo (we have little ones and just can't do open till close every night). We do a shopping trip on our arrival day and pick up what we'll eat for a few dinners, breakfast and some lunches to take with us to the parks. We do eat out for a few dinners - one usually at the park and one outside the park, and may bring something as take out back to the condo.

We fly, so not crock pot unless the condo has one.

We eat out, apart from breakfast. Once or twice we have either ordered pizza in or got something from the deli to bring back to our condo/TH but generally we enjoy eating out when on vacation :)

We make breakfast in the condo. We all like a hot breakfast so I'm talking some combo of eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, toast etc plus a green smoothie and coffee.

All other meals are dining out or carry out. We do buy water, beer and snacks to. Inch on, but I'm never motivated in the evenings to cook.

Honest answer here....we wented a condo with a very nice kitchen when my sister and I went to Arizona. We had a lot of free time, but we honestly rarely ate at all there. We bought food, and ended up not even eating it besides the breakfast stuff. So my advice is don't over shop!

We usually do mostly breakfasts and lunches at the condo. After we get into town, we usually head straight for the parks and eat somewhere in DW. We head back to the condo and get moved in and then once the kids are in bed, I'll run to the store (either Publix or the Super Target) and load up on groceries. Breakfasts are usually cereal or frozen waffles for the kids and eggs/bacon/toast/coffee for the adults. For lunches, we usually just do sandwiches or mac and cheese/hot dogs for the kids. The nice thing about staying at the condo is you can always pack your lunch and bring it to the park as well. Dinners we do mostly at DW or we'll order carry out or delivery from the numerous restaurants in the area. So, we really don't do a ton of cooking at the condo, just 'quick fix' stuff.

We do the opposite, eat breakfast and dinner at the condo and eat a big meal out for lunch. Lunch is normally cheaper than dinner. I normally buy eggs, bread a cooked chicken, cheese, a large baguette, lunch meat, lettuce, tomato. Olive Garden had the buy a meal and take one home when we went. I make a super sub in a large fresh baguette that feeds us once plus some snacks, omlets, western sandwiches, salad, cheese is also cubed for snacks, the chicken is a two meal with sandwiches the next day. I took salsa seasoning and made up fresh salsa for snacks too.

Like a previous poster we would usually eat breakfast and dinner in our villa. Of course we are not all day in the park people so dinner at "home" fits into that plan. Our villa has a crock pot so that would get used from time to time. We have a recipe for crock pot pulled pork that makes a nice vacation meal with plenty of leftovers.

Add a rotisserie chicken and some salads from one of the local supermarkets and there will be plenty of food in the fridge for not a lot of kitchen work. And for a lot less money than eating out. For us, that is one of the advantages of an off site villa with a nice kitchen.

We are foodies and refuse to cook on vacation. Half our fun is trying out new restaurants & foods. We are also renting a VRBO this next time. I will bring simple breakfast foods for 2-3 days, but we eat out every meal other than that.
