VRBO ? Is it worth it?

So we just bought a 4bdrm Florida vacation rental, and are looking for good places to advertise, are there any thoughts that may help me make my decision? Is Paypal a good way to verify funds for all direct rentals. Want to be fair with people renting and make sure they get a fair deal, but also be able to pay for my expenses. I have all of November and most of December available right now, so need to do something.

feeling a little dopey when it comes to this, any ideas would be appreciated.

I personally would NOT use PayPal as there rates are in the 4 to 5% range and you have to wait about 5 to 7 days to receive your funds. VRBO is a great way to get your rental out there to the public, I have used this site numerous times for rentals all over the US. If you have your own merchant account you can do your own transactions and control your money without the high rates and delay time of PayPal. In fact you could build or have an website built for your rental that would securely link to your on line merchant account and everything can be done automatically, plus with your own site you will be more professional and secure to the rental shopper.
I understand you just bought and are looking to rent these next 2 months so you can start getting the cash flow on your purchase, so you could just go to VRBO and place your home on there and run the transactions through your own credit card machine or on line e-commerce acct.
