Has anyone stayed in this property?

DW and I are thinking of spending a few days in the DW area. This looks like a nice place in a nice resort (Oakwater) but we're a little nervous about the whole booking with an individual rather than a company.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The condo looks great and at a very good price. I have rented pool homes from individual owners and it has always been a good experience. Two of the owners were from the UK and one from the US. We kept i n touch via email and we were always called upon arrival to ask us if everything was alright and if we had any problems we could call the mngt. co. or call them directly. I hope it helps you a bit.

Thank you. I'm curious if you had formal rental contracts with the owners. There seem to be a mix of folks on VRBO and some do and some don't work with contracts.

My family has used VRBO about a dozen times. In fact, we have a VRBO trip for late June in Kissimmee.... all but 1 of them have been everything we expected. Even the one that wasn't great was "OK", just not as nice as we had hoped. Their photos made it look much nicer.

Whenever possible, or whenever it makes sense, we use VRBO. We have ALWAYS had a contract, though one time we had an owner who didn't want to have one, so we did not use his place.

What would be a red flag to me is when you look at their availability calendar, the whole thing is wide open. That would just worry me with all the foreclosures happening. At least if it's partially booked, you can be hopeful that they're paying the mortgage.

Yes we have always had a rental contract.

We have always had a formal contracts which spells out responsibilities of both parties.
