I have just stumbled upon a problem and my wedding coordinator is on vacation so maybe you all can help..

I have a vow renewal booked on Secret Deck 7 for 5:30pm and then we have Palo's private dining room reserved for 6pm dinner

Problem: DH and many of the party will be in Tommy Bahama style linen shirts and pants...not Palo dress code! Yikes!
Has anyone been in Palo's PD in non-dress code?

I am sure I am opening a can of worms as dress code is hotly debated, but we will be in a closed off room in view on no one!
Help!

Well i don't know how it is on DCL, but on other cruise lines, the dress code is a joke! You'll see guests in blue jeans and ratty t-shirts on formal night, and nothing is said to them. :confused3 Goes back to the whole theory of "my cruise, i'll wear what i want" . But i wouldn't even think twice about Tommy Bahama and attire like that not being acceptable. I wouldn't wear cutoffs and a tank top, but otherwise, dress pants and a button down shirt should be acceptable for dinner.

While I agree with 29apr00 about the dress code being a joke in the restaurants on board, Palo is a private restaurant and I know they do have a dress code - not sure how much it is enforced. Why don't you take a look at the DCL portion of these boards and post your question there - or look for some posts about the dress code. We took a DCL cruise a few years ago and the night we ate in Palos we did dress up.

I would definately check out the cruise line board for this question.

I did post it over there..I got no real answers

I have a message into the WC (Cathy is on vacation) and my TA is sending a message to the onboard Palo team...I just wondered if anyone over here had had a private Palo dining

I have seen TONS of pictures of people wearing the same thing on DCL for their VR and dining is included in the package so I don't know if the DH just changes or goes in wedding attire

I did check out that board and found your post. No definate answer but I am sure you will be fine. Unfortunately, I guess you need to wait for an "official" answer from your wedding planner but it does sound like you will be ok - especially as you will be in a private room.

So what was the answer? Are they enforcing the dress code, or will your DH's attire be acceptable?

His attire is acceptable..

He isn't wearing the typical Tommy Bahama shirt..it is a white silk shirt and tan linen pants..I will make him put shoes on as he will be wearing sandals..but I am not worried about the shoes! That is an easy fix I can have in a bag on Deck 7!!

That is EXACTLY what i want DH to wear for the VR, and when i checked out TommyBahama.com, all i could find were print style shirts. Did you actually find a nice white dress shirt there?
