So sorry if this has been asked but never knew Disney had packages for this-just thought for weddings...anyway, our 20th anniversary is 2 yrs away & would love to do a very small ceremony at the Poly-our favorite resort. I just signed up to get some info but then decided to check this thread-I'm sure you guys here have some great advice!! So has anyone done this? We would like to stay in a deluxe resort, so I'm sure you could upgrade your package?? What do most couples wear? We would most likely have our kids there-so any info would be great-thanks! By the way..congrats to all you couples who are fortunate enough to be married at Disney-what an amazing thing!!!! :goodvibes

I didn't have an Escape wedding but I do know the resort accommodations are not included in the package and you must stay at least 4 nights on Disney property. The location you are describing is called Sunset Point and is only available during certain months due to weather and has a maximum of 8 guests plus the bride and groom. You can find out more about the package and cost at Disneyweddings.com

Thanks Skylarr29, the info that I pulled up was dated 2003 so I wonder what if any has changed. I'd be looking at early November & the dates were there as well. My question to anyone else that may have done this-if this cost is $3000 what do they do for you. If they don't guarentee the place what exactly are they offering....:confused3

I've been waiting for someone to ask this question because I love to talk about our experience. My DW set up a vow renewal for our 30th anniversary in October of 97 and kept it a complete, and I do mean complete secret from me until just two hours before the event. She sent me off golfing in the morning so she could finish up her last minute details. When I got back to our room, she sat me down and proposed to me and said we were getting married at the Poly in 2 hours! She worked through Disney Weddings and arranged everything. The wedding coordinator took care of all the details. DW had rented Mickey themed tuxedos for my best man and I and she had made her own gown. A limo picked us up at Saratoga Springs and took us over to the Poly where everything out on Sunset Point was ready to go. We had a violin player for music, Disney had arranged for Kevin the Reverend, and an outdoor reception area right on the Point for all 10 of us. We only had cake and champaign because we were having our wedding dinner at the Brown Derby a little later. There was also a professional photographer capturing the whole event. The whole experience lasted about 2 hours. You can have anything you want, but at a price of course. We didn't go all out, and really, I don't think I would've change a thing. I can't say enough good things about the Disney experience and especially the cast members who made this "our day" that we will never forget.

18sprint - that's a great story!! What a wonderful thing for your wife to do!!

swald91 - you can see more current information HERE

Basically the Escape package includes:

A Disney Escape Vow Renewal Package includes these Magical Amenities:
Elegantly simple ceremonies
A fresh floral bouquet for the bride and a fresh flower boutonniere for the groom.
An elegant two tiered wedding cake with keepsake cake topper and one bottle of Fairy Tale Cuvee for your champagne toast.(Approximately 6 glasses per bottle)
A Violinist for your ceremony and reception.
A four (4) consecutive hour limousine charter for transportation on your wedding day for you and your guests.
A professional Disney Photographer to capture your ceremony and reception.
Up to two (2) hours of photography coverage which includes an album of twenty (20) images chosen by you. Along with the album Disney will also provide you with a contact sheet of all the images taken during your event.
A personalized wedding website.
Online planning kit
Additionally, you may choose to add special features to enhance your wedding celebration.

* Disney's Escape Weddings packages require a minimum of a four night stay at an owned and operated Walt Disney World Resort. For additional guests, up to 18 maximum additional elements are at an additional cost (note: some ceremony locations have a maximum occupancy of 10 guests.)

All prices and other terms are subject to change without notice. Ask about our rates, Resorts and dates available throughout the year. Ceremony locations are subject to availability. Advance reservations required and subject to availability.

They start at $4500 and do not include accommodations. There are "unadvertised" elements that you can add (dessert parties, etc.) that the other brides here have done and can help you with.

If that price is more than you were expecting, consider contacting the Swan/Dolphin or any of the DTD hotels. Most (if not all) of them offer something in the way of weddings/vow renewals.

You can also contact some of the officiants that Disney recommends and they are often associated with other locations in the Orlando area that can host a wedding/vow renewal. You can find a list of the officiants HERE

Hope that helps some.

hiwaygal & 18sprint thanks for the info & updates. For our 15th anniversary we went to Hawaii & the resort offered-free of charge a vow renewal ceremony. We had it at 8am on Waikiki beach-it was beautiful I wish my family members were there. There were couples celebrating anywhere between 5-60 years of marriage!!! I just wasn't really sure for the price what exactly Disney did. I guess it's really what you want & what you want to pay for. Of course, we would want something VERY small-only us & probably our 2 kids. I guess I will just wait to get the package & check it out. I hate to spend that money on just us-wouldn't mind if it was our actual wedding... I just thoguht it would be a nice way to celebrate our 20th! Thanks everyone!!!:goodvibes

Vow renewal's on DCL start at $1500 onboard, $2500 on the beach at Castaway Cay! Join the DCL crowd!! :cool1:

My husband had mentioned that...I have a fear of ships:scared1: can only swim to save my life -I know, I know sounds a bit corny! Can I ask...cruise ships on water ? days/ onland at Disney resort ? days. That price sounds better to me, but I'd hate to think I'd be sick the whole trip:rotfl:

the $1500 is just the ceremony, you still have to pay for the cruise itself. We are doing 4 days at WDW before we sail for 3 days on the ship. Our total "vacation" price is cheaper than the $4500 it would have been for the Escape VR package. We are really excited about it!

Don't worry about not being able to swim. You don't have to swim to the islands. :thumbsup2

Just went to DCL where do you find info for wedding/vow renewal ceremonies??

There's nothing on the DCL website.

Go to Disneyweddings.com

click WDW, Cruise Collection, Vow Renewal.

We did the VR on the cruise, and I second April...the entire trip for the 3 of us with the 7 day trip, VR, and all the little extra things was $5000 total soup to nuts, which is less than if we had done something similar at DW. It was a great way to celebrate 20 years. And you really don't have to worry about the swimming or the seasickness thing. Those ships are huge and your really don't have much sickness unless you hit really bad weather....the caribbean is pretty smooth sailing. :thumbsup2

I've checked out the website-and I'm not finding much info. I did sign up for some mailing info & waiting to get that. I do like the sound of the cruise but have never done one before!! I'm hoping to get the package soon so maybe there will be a phone # & someone I can talk with about more details & what may work better. Thanks everyone for your input!!!!:goodvibes

The $1500 includes the ceremony, use of the area for 1 hour, the captain as the officiant, flowers for you and your spouse (others are available for additional cost), cake for up to 10 people, champagne for up to 10, an 8 x 10 photo, bathrobes, champagne in your room and dinner for you 2 at Palo. I believe that is everything. April would remember better than I since she is almost at hers and mine was 1 year ago. I do know that the VR is done on a at sea day on the 7 day trip. They can do up to 3 on a 7 day cruise. If you have additional people, like I did, you can always pay for the extras, at not that much IMO. We did pay for the group to eat at Palo (no kids) the night of the renewal.

Hope this helps. They really won't send you any real helpful info unless you have booked the cruise, and you are about 6 months until the cruise itself. Most of the info I got ahead of time came from the disboards.
