Vouchers, and why I'll never use them...

We will never, ever use the Quick and Casual Vouchers again!!!!

Unfortuanately they were not good at all the places our ticket broker said they would be (breakfast one) and we found it to be inconvenient to use them. Besides the fact that we felt it forced us to get food choices we would of otherwise not made.

Did anyone else experience any places not excepting the Quick and Casual Breakfast voucher???????

Flo

Are you saying there are restaurants listed on the big post here in the budget board that no longer accept them?

Did you research here regarding them?

I am not a voucher person, just dont like to hear that someone lost out on something!...

I am not planning on doing vouchers for the simple reason that when we want to eat, we want to eat, I dont want to walk across a park to the restaurant that actually saves money instead of losing it!..

Sorry it was a bad deal for you?

Was the rest of the trip good??

Brandy

The places that accept the vouchers are clearly listed on the back of the voucher. If your ticket broker told you differently, then I wouldn't use that broker again but I wouldn't blame it on the vouchers.

I am confused just reading your post. Did you purchase and try to use breakfast vouchers or quick and casual lunch/dinner vouchers. They are NOT the same. I wouldn't imagine you could use the q & c at the restaurants for breakfast nor the bkft for lunch.

We used both q & c and bkft on our last trip and it worked out fine for us. Of course, I bought them knowing which restaurants we would be eating at first. I agree with the person who said s/he didn't want to walk all over just to find the best place to eat. To me it was about the convenience of prepaying for some meals that was appealing not necessarily getting $40 worth of food for the cost of one voucher!

Yes, the OP probably tried to use a Q & C for a VKL restaurant. The Q& C clearly state all the restaurants that can be used on the Q & C.

As for VKL, I don't know how they are set up, since I have never used it.

I have never had a problem, with Q & C for two trips at various establishments throught WDW (parks and resorts), and have had no problems whatsoever.

I did it more for pre pay conveienence.. than for getting lots of food for little money

I agree. I plan to use the vouchers on our next trip. I'm not going to worry about saving a few dollars. I just want to be able to prepay for as many things as possible.

I was referring to the Quick and Casual Breakfast vouchers... not the ones you can use at the buffet breakfasts. The restaurants that except them are not on the back of these vouchers...there is a small listing of a few of the participating venues on the front but it clearly stated "including these.........". It does not list all the places that except it like the Quick and Casual Lunch/Dinner Vouchers. (I wish they had listed them on the back......would of elimiated my issue...and it is probably one of the reasons the ticket broker I purchased them from...no longer sells them...)

Thanks Brandy for your thoughts on my situation!!!!!!!! I greatly appreciate them!!!!!!!!

Flo

we used the "Breakfast Feature" Breakfast Vouchers this is what our vouchers read, not sure if they are the same as what you are referring to ....
Each Breakfast voucher costs $17.75 for adults or $11.00 for children. Each breakfast includes a choice of juice, one main breakfast dish, one hot beverage and one bakery item or full breakfast buffet at a participating restaurant location at the WDW resorts. Taxes and gratuities are included. Alcoholic beverages are not included. Current vouchers being issued expire 5/31/04. * Represent Character Dining locations. Priority Seating for Character Dining is recommended. Breakfast Vouchers good at:
Magic Kingdom - The Crystal Palace*, Cinderella's Royal Table*, Main Street Bakery
Epcot - Pure & Simple, Princess Storybook Breakfast*, Sunshine Season Food Fair, Electric Umbrella
Disney-MGM Studios - Hollywood & Vine, ABC Commissary
Animal Kingdom - Pizzafari, Rainforest Cafe, Restaurantosaurus*(Donald's Breakfastosaurus, Tusker House Resturant
All-Stars - End Zone Food Court, Intermission Food Court, World Premiere Food Court
Animal Kingdom Lodge - Boma-Flavors of Africa, The Mara
Beach Club - Cape May Cafe*
BoardWalk Inn - Boardwalk Bakery, Spoodles

Port Orleans Resort - Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, Boatwright's Dining Hall, Riverside Mill
Wilderness Lodge - Whispering Canyon Cafe, Roaring Forks Snacks
Yacht & Beach Club - Yacht Club Galley

we had no problem using them including character breakfasts at Chef Mickey's , Crystal Palace, Cinderella's royal table, Restaurantosaurus

the Quick and Easy's that we purchased ( never heard of quick and easy breakfast ones ) were for lunch or dinner. and again we had NO problem using them , and quite often we had great meals at the various resorts saving alot more $$ than what it cost us for the voucher itself (11.25) our meals at the pepper mill , alone were around 32.00 each........
I am definitely going to look into more vouchers for our next trip , just need to wait till the expiration date changes in may before purchasing them.

It pays to know all the details before you buy the vouchers. My son and I will use the QNC at Beaches and Cream. We both love the burgers there and my son wants to try the kitchen sink.

I have no plans on how we'll use the other QNC vouchers. We'll just wing it I guess.

What are the QNC breakfast vouchers? Where can they be purchased and how much are they? I assume they are only for counter service breakfast, right.

::MickeyMo sorry that you had problems with them. I loved them when I used them last year and have already started buying them for this year, but you do have to read the back and make sure they are used where you want to go.::MickeyMo

You are right, Disney Junkie

places like..........The Mara,Animal Kingdom Lodge......Old Port Royale at Caribbean Beach.................Riverside Mill at Port Orleans...............etc.............unfortunately....this one, (The Quick and Casual Breakfast...........) is not as well planned out as the lunch/dinner vouchers.....

these state: "at a participating location located within the Walt Disney World Resort"........and no body knows anything about them at Disney......

Thanks
Flo

You are aware that the QNC vouchers no longer include the kitchen sink?....which, if you order one, will make them significantly less of a "deal" if you don't get dessert off the voucher and pay for your own.

Mad4Dizne, May I ask where you bought Quick and Casual breakfast vouchers?

I have never even heard of Q&C breakfast vouchers. I've heard of the regular breakfast vouchers which can be used at buffets, but never Q&C breakfast vouchers.

Flo, I'm sorry to have replied in a way that you took harshly. That wasn't intentional. As you can see none of us have heard of these q & c breakfast vouchers which probably also explains why you had trouble at Disney as well. Perhaps you don't want to say where you purchased them which is understandable but of course we're curious since it's a new thing. Or, perhaps those vouchers are an old thing and that's why no one has heard of them. You said the ticket broker isn't selling them anymore? I guess too much negative feedback. Other than that unfortunate hassle, I hope your trip was fun. We love Disney and can't wait to go back.

I know the KS isn't included. My son has been talking about getting the KS for the last two years. So matter what, we're getting one.

I'm not worried about getting the best deal possible with the vouchers. I look at them as a way to prepay our meals. If we end up saving money fine, if not fine.

Before our trip I plan to buy 12 QNC vouchers, 2 breakfast vouchers, we'll get 2 free breakfast vouchers from Paramount when I buy our park passes, and I have $100 in GC for Rainforest Cafe.

I was referring to the Quick and Casual Breakfast vouchers...

What the heck are those? I have used the breakfast, Q & C and the Lunch vouchers..but I have never heard of the ones you are talking about. Sounds like something your broker set up, maybe?

The vouchers I have are all clear on where you can use then, with the exception of places that may not offer lunch anymore.

I have never heard of the QNC breakfast either. The QNC were for lunch/dinner only.

I have heard of the Breakfast Voucher, but NOT the QNC Breakfast Voucher.

I'm wondering if the broker gave out bogus certificates.

Can someone please tell me where I can get these vouchers...and also where I can find a complete list of where they are good. We are a family of 8 (6 kids) anything that makes the trip easier (prepaying for meals) and helps save some money would be great!

Look at the top of this board, and there will be an IMPORTANT (or something to that effect) about vouchers. That post will have prices, and lists of where these vouchers can be redeemed.

Disneyjunkie,

Good, I just didn't want you to be in for any unpleasant surprises.

I'm not a voucher user, but if I were, I'd do the same thing - not be too concerned with the best deal, just knowing that the meals were taken care of. I can see us buying them when the kids get old enough to run around on their own and mom wants to make sure they eat something and don't spend all their money before lunch.
