I've been researching strollers and reading a ton of posts on this family board. I'm leaning towards purchasing a Mac, but which one? I'm due in late July early August so I'm looking for a stroller that is light and travels easy for all of our Disney trips :goodvibes . Our first trip with our newest Disney fan will be this December (baby will be around 5 months old).

I was looking at the Graco Spree Travel System with SnugRide, Winnie the Pooh Days of Hunny before I see all of the good comments about the Mac on these boards. Should I skip the Graco and go right for one of the Mac's or get the Graco and get a Mac Volvo or Triumph for when the baby gets older? Decisions, decisions... :lmao:

Volo. no second V. :)

I wouldn't get a Volo for a tiny baby, it doesn't recline. Make sure the others both recline all the way, b/c you need that for a baby. I think 6 months is around the point where you are allowed to use some of the non "infant" strollers.

But definitely not the Volo.

And now I can't answer anymore b/c I'm out of my element b/c I am a babywearer, and didn't even own a stroller until DS was 2 (jogging stroller!), and DH and I each took the infant seat out of the car ONCE. Too heavy, unergonomic, banged the baby around too much, and after that just left the thing in the base...until we moved up to the Roundabout before he was 4 months old.

So you can see I have little knowledge about infants in strollers. :)

I agree w/ bumbershoot don't get the volo for use right now. I have recently decided to get a second mac am going w/ the quest. I currently have a techno which I love and I opted for the quest b/c it has similar features that I like. My techno has an adjustable footress so does the quest, I have read that the quest has a four position recline so does the techno (the techno reclines flat and I am hoping the quest does as well but I believe someone posted for me once that it doesn't lie as flat but does come close) The triumph relcines just a small amount. If you decide to go w/ the volo or triumph I would still got w/ the graco. JMO!

ETA~ You may prefer to have the graco if your baby will only be 5mths for the storage that it provides since you will have at least a diaper bag full of needed items, those alone can take up half a stroller.

I like the Quest....it reclines, and seemed to me to have a deeper seat than the Triumph. I LOVE my Quest.

I wasn't sure if you were looking for a Disney stroller only or considering the Mac for everyday use as well? The Macs are good Disney strollers because of the easy portability and lightweight. For everyday use at home, you may not want to use the Mac...especially with a tiny baby. We used our stroller carrier system (Evenflo) until he outgrew the carrier. We didn't even consider using a lightweight stroller until DS was quite a bit older (9 months or more maybe?)... We used a medium-sized stroller for DS's first trip at 8.5 months...the Evenflo Journey. It was a nice combination of having large baskets for all the diapers, bottles, etc., cupholders, comfort, but the Evenflo Journey is not nearly as heavy as some of the bigger full featured strollers.

If you buy a Mac now for Disney, even if you don't use it now, it won't be a waste of money...you will almost certainly use it SOMEDAY!

I would skip the volo no matter what, no recline, which to me just isn't good. I would get the quest if you want to start using it at a younger age, that way you have the few extras good for a smaller child, if the child is going to be 2 by the time you buy it then I would think the triumph would be fine. I would think at 6 months neither would be good for disney trip. I would get something cheaper to take, more of a full size stroller for an infant that young. We have the quest and love it, DS was 3.5 before I bought it.

Sadly, I can't help much with these models, but I have a similar question. DS, will be 2 1/2 during our May trip. We use a Chicco Capri for our lightweight stroller and I don't think I can stand to use it for a week in WDW. DH and I aren't THAT tall (I'm 5'7", he's 6'1"), but we both have to hunch over to push the Capri and constantly kick the wheels, and it doesn't manage all that well. DS seems comfy enough, but there's really no recline for naps.

Either I need to get a handle extender and some other add-ons before the trip, or think about an upgrade (which I'm longing for, anyway). I've read positive things about the Inglesinas (the Trip and the Erbe). Any thoughts on those? A better idea? Looking for lightweight and compact when it folds, and defn. under $200 (ideally, less than $150).

Thanks!

I haven't tried any myself, but I have also heard really good things about the Trip and especially the Urbe. And these reviews were coming from parents who know their strollers and also own much pricier/nicer ones (Bugaboo's, Stokke's, etc.). I wouldn't hesitate trying one out! :goodvibes

Definitely the Quest.

Not the Volo for an infant.

The Triumph seat is about an inch+ more shallow than the Quest (I just measured last week but can't recall the numbers).

I don't know anything about the strollers you mentioned but a mac would be great for you also (skip the volo though - no recline).

We have a triumph and love it. DS was in it last year when he was 4! Yes, I know 4 yr olds should be walking but it keeps him safe from running or getting lost. He also fell asleep once or twice in the evenings. The stroller reclines, has a foot rest and a sun cover. It has lasted for years and comes in lime green;)
