Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about being able to buy tickets for Volcano bay without having to buy Universal too? Would really love a 14 day ticket for here for next August but was hoping to give the main parks a miss. This is 14th trip since 2005 so would like to take it easy with just waterparks, DC etc.
Thanks

Will do. We are only going for 15 nights this year. Usually go for three weeks but just couldn't get three weeks to work. Thought it would be easier when son in 6th form but school have asked that no one on holiday on 18th as they need to decided what subject they want to drop for second year and will have to have meetings at school. But 15 nights better than nothing.
Am very happy as I got the PE flights on 20th with seats in the bubble both ways for£1600. Booked yesterday.

we're doing 3 weeks, but all onsite at WDW - our first time at SSR..
i was going to do bonnet creek, but when i crunched all the numbers, the UK 'free dining' plan at SSR worked out better...

we'll just take one day to go to universal...
DS and his wife will actually go to HP in both parks..

but DH, me, DD, DSIL, two grand kidlets will all go to volcano bay while the other two are in HP...

DS, DDIL and the two kids leave after 19 days...
the rest of us stay for another 2 days then head out on the disney dream for 3 nights...
then right to the airport and back home..

Would also like to know. Just doing Disney this year but would like to do the new water park!

Sounds great. Love SSR but just crazy price when I checked. Think it worked out at £466 a night compared to £106 at Bonnet Creek. Would never eat enough to make up gir the free dining.
We were considering Disney parks this year but definitely not committing until I know if Avatar is up and runnin. I refuse to go until they build something new. Have gone without Disney parks last two years and honestly haven't missed them.

bonnet creek came out to more for us because we need two 2 bedroom suites (we can't do one 4 bedroom as we need the separation of two different suites with 4 of us in each).

when i crunched all the numbers, it came out to a difference of about $70 per person per day....i figured we'd probably eat close to that amount per day if we eat most of our meals inside disney - which we probably will...and with the other benefits, it would be worth it to pay the upcharge...

this is the first big family trip since 2011....that was the last time all of us went together (6 of us - the two kidlets are new additions, bringing the group to 8)....
4 of us were there 3 years ago for a few days before my nephew's wedding....
but the full group hasn't been there together since 2011, so we may as well go whole hog on the disney experience....
i doubt we'll be able to do this again for a very very very long time (if ever)...

we're hoping avatar is up and running by then, but it's not a dealbreaker...we actually like AK very much as it is...

this will be the first time at the parks for the 3 and 1 year olds....i don't know how much they'll get out of it, but the whole family will be together..

not to say we'll be done with disney..
we're already planning for 2018 -
but rather than WDW, we think we'll do a cruise on the disney magic in the Mediterranean....
that will give us our disney fix without having to rob a bank to fly us there...
the flights to florida are just way too much for us now...
i paid something like $16,000 for the 8 of us for next year.....insane!!!! can't do that every year, that's for sure..
getting to barcelona is much much much cheaper...so disney cruise it is in 2018 (at least i hope so :) )....
