We’re going to Universal Studios in May and doing the 3 parks. We’ve never been to VB before. Are renting lockers a must or just leave things at resort? We’re thinking about either going to VB early morning, showering there and then doing the park, or going back to Cabana Bay for a quick change of clothes, or maybe going to VB after the park(late afternoon), in the evening? Any tips for a VB newbie? Thank you

Cabana Bay is so close to VB that it would not make sense to me to shower at VB and go straight to the park. I wear my suit and coverup to VB, bring a towel, take my ID, credit card, room key and ticket in a waterproof lanyard, and leave my phone in the room. Early entry is very worth it to ride without any lines, although late in the day you may find shorter lines also.

We rented a locker once when there was 6 of us staying at RPR, its 16 or 18 bucks. A nice feature of the lockers is you can set it up so that everyone in the group has access through their tapu tapu

There is no serious advantage to showering at VB and then going directly to the parks. Plus you will have carry all of your wet clothes through the parks. Nope, go with what the previous poster said - go back to the hotel, shower there and then head to the parks. If you are staying in the towers (the interior corridors) you are super close to the VB walkway. The courtyard rooms require a bit more of a walk. We usually do the parks first and then head to VB mid-day, but we also tend to go at slow times so your experience may vary.

I've never gotten a locker and do exactly what the previous poster does. Pack nothing that you would be upset if it walked and move your bag as you move through the park. I usually add a drink and sunscreen to the previous poster's list (and sometimes a book). VB is kind of big and I don't want to have to back track across the park every time that I want something out of my bag.

Thank you. We will have to figure out a plan either do VB early or something like mid-afternoon then head back to the parks early evening.

I know we will have to have our room card for access to VB. Can we link a credit card so we don’t have to carry a card instead of carry cash? We do have waterproof lanyards.

BTW, any recommendations on the restaurants there?

You can link a credit card to your Tapu Tapu, but I wouldn’t want to rely upon that. I had issues the first year. I always bring some cash too, in case the registers quit working.

I like the jerk shrimp Mac n cheese from Wakawa(sp) Eats. The restaurants are all pretty much quick service, but they have good choices.
