VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

1. Is it crazy to go to VB without a smartphone? I’m thinking of leaving mine behind this time but want make sure this isn’t some sort of critical error (like is any food mobile order only or something?).

2. I think I want to set up camp under a Rainforest Area shaded structure this time. It appears that this area is off limits during early entry though? Can anyone confirm you can’t access these loungers during EE?

1. No, not crazy. Mobile ordering (food) is not required.
2. It kind of makes sense that certain areas of the park (esp. towards Rainforest in the back) wouldn't be open yet during Early Entry, but I can't verify what sections. Hopefully someone else can help with this question. :)

1- We took our phones, but I agree with Sehsun, they are not needed. My kids played on theirs while we took breaks under the canopy shade in the lounge chairs, but we never needed to use them for anything. I also recommend linking a credit card to your Universal Account, so you won't need to take any money or credit cards. You can pay for food and souvenirs through your Tapu with your pin number.

2- We were able to get lounge chairs under the two permanent shade structures in the Rainforest area during early morning hours. These are between the Oh No and Oh Yeah slides and the Bambu Restaurant. They are close to the big wave that comes into the fearless river for reference. They close off the path during early morning by the Bambu restaurant through the bridge by Krakatau. After we got our chairs, we needed to back track to the entrance of the two drop slides and went through the volcano to get to Krackatau. However, we felt the few minutes of extra walking was worth getting shade and protection from the rain.

Hi everyone,
Next week we are staying at Royal Pacific and going to Volcano Bay on our check-out day. I have a couple of questions:

1. We will have a car. Should we drive to the main lot or is there transportation from RP that we should take instead? After our water park day, we are checking into the Polynesian that afternoon.

2. Do we get Express Passes for VB since we are staying at Royal Pacific? Last I heard we did not but wanted to confirm.

Thank you!

You can leave your car in the RP parking lot and just drive away when you come back as yes, there are buses from RP to take you to and from VB.

Don’t drive to the main parking lot as you’ll have to pay again, whereas your parking is good till midnight on checkout day at RP.

No, your RP EP is not valid for VB.

Hope you have a lovely trip!

Sorry all if this has been asked and answered elsewhere but I didn’t see it listed. Do we have any insight into when Universal will make VB Express Pass available for purchase for travel dates in 2025. We have an Epic Universe trip planned for June 2025, which includes one day at VB, and depending on the price would like to purchase VB EP sooner rather than later. The current online booking appears to only go out till end of 2024. Would it be worth calling?

Does Vol the Spirit of Krakatau still work these days? I read that the voice has been completely removed, can anybody report?

How much are express passes for Volcano Bay?
Do they have an accomodation pass like at Universal Studios or is that kind of obsolete because of the tapu tapu syst

I don't know, but have to imagine they don't. The accommodation passes at the main parks are effectively the exact same as the tapu tapu system - you select your ride, wait until it's nearly your turn, then head to the ride with just a few people in front of you so you aren't in a standard queue environment for very long. What would an accommodation pass do additionally?

I've never been to VB before, is there enough to do there to fill a day? We aren't into scary slides, more family friendly stuff. We are onsite for quite a few days so figured we should give this park a try since we have never been in over a dozen trips.
kids are 6 and 9 and not adventurous.

It depends. We spend all day there and did even when my kids were same same age as yours. If your kids love the water, the wave pool, lazy river and fearless river can take up up the good part of a day, especially on a crowded day when the virtual lines are long, presuming they want to do all the family raft rides - "not adventurous" is pretty vague.
We use VB as a quasi-rest day in the middle of the trip. We think the food there is the best of the Uni parks and we also like the tropical cocktails. We do a lot of lounging- recovering in between slides from all the stairs at VB and long days in the dry parks, just soaking up the atmosphere. It's always one of our best days of a Uni trip.
If you're a go-go-go family with a decent touring plan (like rope-dropping Krakatau), then I would say it's not a full day park on an average-crowd level day.

you sound like you go at our pace. I'm looking forward to our day there.

My kids are 14 and after 5 or 6 Universal trips they would tell you VB is their favorite park. We’re heading down for one last trip in March before our passes expire and they don’t even want to go into the other parks!

I'm looking at going on Sunday, March 23 to Volcano Bay between getting off the cruise ship in Port Canaveral and a 6pm flight. I have two teenage daughters. Tips for doing Volcano Bay (for the first time) with about 5 hours and not getting there until like 10:30?
