VMK will not work!!!

We have tried everything and it will not work. I have tried at work and tried at home. My DH checked the cookies and firewall thing last night and it won't work. It does a load thing, then the dictionary and then says it has disconnected. I have tried to ask for help on the site, and when I put in my username and birthday it always says "oops, they don't match". Well, I created a new log in and tried again, and still nothing. I can't even ask a CM for help because I can't get any further than "Oops"! How frustrating!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent and of course, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I get the same thing. Not that it helps but just to let you know I haven't been able to get back in since I first joined over a week ago.
 

Same thing here. I have tried at home and work, and after getting a loading progress bar, I get an error message "connection has been lost". Someone please help!!!

Remember that VMK is in beta. That means it is in the testing phase and all kind of bugs are being discovered.
 
I was able to log in last night. It is not letting me right now. Could it be they are only running the Beta at night?

Thanks for the replies! I knew some other people were having trouble, but when the thing keeps giving me that "oops" message whem I am trying to get help and I know I am entering the correct information, it makes me mad!!! :badpc:

I've had no trouble from work - very quick connection ... but had no luck from home. Don't know if there's any rhyme or reason.

Why didn't I think of that?!?! My home connection is 5Mbps. I can log in fine with that. But when I am connected to my work VPN, I am throttled down to ~1Mbps.

I just dropped my connection to work and I got right into VMK.

try these things

1) uninstall from control panel -shockwave-
2)goto www.macromedia.com and download the uninstall for flash along with the full version of shockwave 10 and flash...
3) restart the computer
4) Install shockwave and flash
5) try and log in to vmk. If it freezes when you do get ready for this...

6) this may sound strange, but it worked for me...Make sure you have the currant version of Direct X from www.directx.com and for the strange part...

make sure your audio drivers are updated. This is what really worked for me. Now I don't have any problems. Let me know if this helped... :banana:

Just a thought. I don't know what time you are trying to get on, but if I remember correctly they shut it down at like 9 or 10pm. Their explanation was that they have cast members online to make sure everything is acceptable for children. So I am assuming that when it is quiting time they shut it down.

Yep, I try all day long. And then at night too from home, but before 10:00.

Thanks though! Sometimes there is no telling what I might be doing wrong when it comes to the computer so any input is appreciated.

Well we tried what crow11ad said, and it still doesn't work, so I guess I will just wait and see when VMK goes live. Thanks for trying to help me though! I really appreciate it!

There are limited hours of operation. I believe they are 7am - 10pm, pacific standard time.

Try and email the people at Shockwave.com They helped me. And you did updated your sound drivers, correct?

Just curious -- my original character works just fine.

But then, using a different email address, I created a second character that my 3yo daughter could "customize", with MY birthday and the same address as the 1st character.

After playing with the 2nd character for a while, I am no longer able to get back in with it. I wonder whether Disney blacklisted the character because they figured same b-day / same address was illegal?

Any similarity to your problems?
