VMK Insiders Tour at WDW...

I was there on December 24, they informed me that the tours were no longer available, I had asked if they would be starting the tours up again after the new year, they stated that they were no longer having tours now or anytime in the future. This is the information I was given by the cast members inside vmk central.

The tours are discontinued indefinitely. They may bring something back in the future, but the tours as they were are not coing to come back.

Oh bummer! DS14 has finally gotten into VMK and was hoping we could do the tour in May. :worried: Oh well.

Next question:

Do they still have the Quests? Are they still giving out the cards for the tent rooms if you have the print out? Can anyone tell me exactly what they still are, and are not, giving out at VMK Central these days?

Thanks so much :)

They do still have the quests, make sure you print out the tomorrowland quest at home and bring it with you.

You get the pirate set when you turn in all the quests (Set is: Couch, Stool, Bird Hat, Pirate Room, Pirate Quest Pin, Pirate Treasure Rug & Flaming Window) At this point in time you also receive the Railroad teleporters and the Gorilla & Rhino Jungle posters that you used to receive on the tour.

I believe they are still giving out the tent room cards if you have those (come to think of it, I need that PDF so I can get a card ;) )

well since they no longer have the tour, when i went on the tour i got all the other exclusive stuff, but now cause there is 5 quests... 1 adventureland quest, 2 fantasyland quest, 3 frontierland, 4 tomorrowland quest and 5 holiday quest. and if u get all of the questions right u get all the bonus stuff u would normally get on the tour. your welcome for the advice and whenever u need quest or tour help just let me know!

Actually both tomorrowland and holiday have expired. Holiday isn't coming back but tomorrowland will eventually

Will they still take the holiday quest now?

They are not taking the holiday quest at all. As of Jan 2nd, however, they were still taking the Tomorrowland quest and had no information/knowledge if they were going to discontinue it.

So the Tomorrowland quest is still good, right? I'm going to WDW on Friday and I don't want to go into VMK Central and have them turn me away for the Tomorrowland quest prizes. I'm a little miffed that they're not doing any tours, cause I missed out on the tour when I was there in July.

They WERE still doing Tomorrowland as of 1/2. I would take the quest sheet and try since we haven't heard any reports that they aren't taking it.

If you decide to try it, please post here if they take it or not.

When we were at the VMK booth at DLR on Monday I was told by the CM that in the survey, people indicated that they weren't interested in the tours. What?!?!? I would TOTALLY love to go again!

Don't know about WDW, but the original 3 DLR quests Adventureland, Fantasyland and Adventureland, expire January 30, 2006. The DLR Pirate Quest expires on March 5, 2006. Interesting since there are no more tours.

The original WDW Adventureland, Frontierland, and Fantasyland quest brochures all say they expire on September 30, 2006.

I'll do my best to post as soon as I get some information. Unless I can convince the place we're staying at to give me free wireless access ($10 a day isn't worth it in my mind), it may not be until Monday evening-ish till I can give updated info.

Well, I didn't know for sure. The friends that went to WDW this weekend and promised to turn in the quests for me - I gave them the holiday quest forms too, just in case they had a few more cards laying around.

I told my friends that if any forms were expired not to worry about it.

Which shows the fallibility of surveys! If you give the public five choices and tell them to rate them in order of their preference, it does NOT mean that the least mentioned is not wanted. I prefer more games, prefer more furniture/pins, etc. because in my case I won't be going back to the parks anytime soon.:) However, that does not mean I would not like the quests.
A survery can be skewed in a heartbeat with that kind of thinking.
And, yes my employer the USPS, just LOVES to use surveys like that!:(

Well, I think that most people in VMK haven't been to the parks recently nor are able to go to the parks when they want, no matter how much they might want to go. So to them the tours are no big deal. They want the goodies without having to go to the park.

I, in fact would favor that, but VMK should have offered some alterative in place of the tours. The way they did it, by just cutting it off like that, really messed with a lot of people who have planned vacations around going to the parks just to get the cards like I did. I did luck out and got most of the cards anyway, but I had really looked forward to the tour all summer and fall.

They might not "charge" to play the game but that little trip to get the cards, cost us over three hundred dollars for one day in the park.

YEah try over $1000 for a trip that you plan before they cancel the tours only to have them end before you make the trip. DH and I will still enjoy ourselves but part of the reason for going was to do the VMK tour.
