I will try to make a long story short, but here goes........

I had been waiting for the Gingerbread House contest registration to start, and as soon as it opened, I started the process. I double and even tripled check all information and any typos to make sure it was correct and EXACTLY how it was requested for it to be submitted.

After making sure for the FOURTH time it was correct, I went ahead and hit send and was so excited I actually remembered to do it on the specified date and was there when it actually opened for registration. About 30 minutes after I registered I mentioned to some other players on VMK and they said thanks for reminding them and they registered as well. Yay me, right?

WELL ANYWAYS...........I was reading the boards and saw threads about verifying a registration and how ppl were getting emails back regarding it. I asked a couplr of friends who had registered after me if they got an email and they had. I even checked my spam, no email. So I then used the contact us form waited for 2 days for a respose and got one from VMK_Shorty. It said there was no user with the name I had registered as. Well, there is a player with that name, and its ME, so I know I exist, as do many of you...

I wrote another email back asking to pls double check, that maybe they mistyped it somewhere on thier end by mistake. Well I waited another 2 days for a response and was told "Sorry, we have completed registration for the contest, blah blah blah........." I KNOW! So now I cant anyone to even double check to see if it is an error on thier side or note. Im SOOOOO mad that all i keep getting is computer generated responses that dont even fit my question!

I guess I just had to vent bc my non-vmk friends have no clue why I'd be so frustrated, so Im just venting to you guys..................THX!

Oh and BTW.........Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!....LOL Ending the rant on a happy note.......! :santa:

do you use aol becuase I needed to switch to gmail for vmk mail aol just doesn't get that mail anywhere

I do use aol and I did get a response back, but they wouldnt even check into my registration.........what if it was a typo in their part? Then I dont to get one of those cute little flags left in my room :sad2:

I'm so sorry Trish! :sad1: Seems clear that's a goof-up on their end, and I know those responses can really get to you when it seems clear they aren't even reading your email. :sad2:

I have a question though-- do you play Pirates Online also? My dad had issues with registration also, and his email addy was the same as the one used for Pirates Online. Difference compared to your situation was it wouldn't let him access the form at all; kept saying the account didn't exist/info. was wrong. Finally it worked, but I don't think it was long before registration filled up that it finally worked.

Again, I'm so sorry about this. If you've already made your room though, you could still have a shot at Best Guest Room. Not the same I know, but maybe that's something to think about.

I think it is aol. When there was sign up for community leaders the bulk mail never got to me thus no chance to be. I think aol some how knows if this is a form letter like you reply and they send out a canned repsonse to a direct response that VMK_ shorty gave you.

I would say that the problem is aol. And you should have a secondary email for this very issuse.

I feel your pain because I too once had aol as primary and missed out on a lot too.

Also I feel your pain about VMK_Shorty's responses as it has been discuss we feel he never got pass the Dick and Jane books of see spot

But to be fair to him he is probably the only one responding to these complaints and there is not enough of him to go around.

I use AOL. But I also made sure to add mailman@virtualmagickingdom to my allowed senders list in my address book, and I received the bulk response when I registered. And I received the clarification email that was sent out yesterday, too.

Geez that stinks Trish. But I agree with the over all opinion that its aol. On the other hand I think we need another way of reaching vmk other than their canned FAQ list. I lost my sign on info for 2 of my main characters, wrote vmk begging for help which was about 2 weeks ago. I had to tap dance my question to get around their FAQ list, so you almost have to dictionary dance in the contact page to. I lost a mountain of magic and other things.

Oh well easy come, yadda yadda.

Sorry to hear this Trish :(

I will also end on a happy note: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you too ;)

When Registration opened I registered with my VMK username
on the very first page where it asks for your username and date of birth...
I put in Cloiepooh and my DOB and continued on
However hubby registered right after me and got his confirmation almost instantly...I didn't

I waited a bit, still no letter soooo. I went on again and instead of putting Cloiepooh in the username I put the Email addy that I registered with.
As soon as I did..BAM confirmation letter.

Don't know why but it happened and that might be the issue with some of you guys.

Very good point. Because I never did that the first time around. But if you don't chances are aol will eat the email.

I know AOL stinks with lots of stuff, but I still use it, my fault. But the problem is that I think VMK may have mistyped it on their end when they were looking me up or something, bc theysaid I dont exist! And I so know I exist! LOL! If they would only re-check my registartion, which Im sure they dont care about, since they have so many............they would see it wasnt my error.

I guess at this point its the principle, that they wont even check it, but oh well............ :santa:

Thanks guys!

I did not sign up for the competition, so I don't know for sure, but...when it asks for username when you use contact us it means your Disney account sign-in "username" not your vmk title. (unless of course your vmk title actually is the same as your Disney account username) I signed up with Disney however many years ago and that is my sign-in for any of their websites, including vmk.

Trishqtpi I am very sorry even though you were in on time you didn't get registered. :(

Exactly!! This could be the problem here. When it asks for your username, they mean your username that you use when logging in, NOT your VMK player name. For instance, even though my VMK title is PinkGirlygirl, I do NOT use that name when asked for my username....

So sorry this happened to you! :( Hugs!!!

After re-reading your original post, it does sound like you used your actual VMK player name, rather than the username you use when logging in.... :(

Again, so sorry!!
