VMK game help arrow keys not working

I am new to VMK and I can't seem to get my arrow keys to work properly in the games. I am unable to select the fireworks or shoot ammo from my pirate ship. I have tried two different computers in my house, so now I am wondering if there is something else I should be doing to configure my computers correctly. I am using a PC. Thanks!

Make sure the num lock button is off if you use the number pad.
