With the "tone" of the past few weeks my daughter and I have been discussing this, that it looked like they were going in that direction because they are pushing us all towards the pay-to-play games. VERY SAD that we were right about this. Very sad.

It's funny I had told my children that also. My son plays toontown, but two memberships is such an expensive venture! Sigh.............. The mighty dollar speaks volumes! I would pay to play vmk

OMG!! This is so sudden. I..I'm shocked, I'm sad, I'm in denial...My stomach feels "topsy turvy". I've made true friendships on VMK who I will never gt in touch with again. I do hope this board stays open..I'd HATE to lose all of you!! I love everyone one of you.

I don't know what to do...well If anyone sees a HOST or VMK, please ask them what game they are working on next? I hope to see them again if i can. I would also like to know what you guys are moving on to...I play some other online games...but they are nothing compared to what vmk has brought to me. If you like I can recommend, but don't have high expectations...

I really hope that they somehow change their mind, or lend the game over to someone else maybe...I just want to keep playing!!!

Well, if this fairies or cars world is any good, i'm checking it out...i'd probably be a fairy though...but just one thing...it better be FREE.

I can't say I didn't see it coming...but I didn't want to believve what i was seeing.
* DMR items being removed
*Yavn saying about 40 times in one letter that this was ONLY supposed to be for the 50th anniv.
*VMK hocking the pay to plays
*Codes not working
the signs were all there...

I just think that disney is tired of the "evil stepchild" of the online community.
Even when they did things right ppl complained.
and when they messed up ppl complained more.
VMK was just as much to blame for their worse that AWFUL customer service and I think that disney was just tired of dealing with it for little or no return.

I am so sad. I love all the ppl I have met here and in the game.

As well as everyone on the board, I am totally flabbergasted This was a way for me, as well, to escape from my many health problems and make some friendships that I pray will continue on

Why are they bringing out any new stuff over the next 6 weeks when none of it will transfer over to Toon Town or anyplace else for that fact I guess I will be going around and giving away everything I have

With the released of inferno and other rare items, myself and a few other friends were saying that it looked like the close of Funville was coming soon.

I have made some great friendship through VMK and would not trade those memories for anything.

I feel bad for Host_Phinny, Host_Lily, Host_Hula and Host_Hurricane. The last week in VMK has been bad enough with the way the quest went. Now they are the ones on the front lines that are going to have to deal with the fallout of VMK closing next "moon".

Having come to truly enjoy the hosts in VMK, I think the greater concern is for them personally. I hope that each and every 1 of you has employment opportunties offered to you in other areas. Sending pixie dust your way!

Sooooo..... who's the talented peep that's going to start building VMK-like stuff for us in Second Life now? Anyone? Anyone?

OMG I have been looking forward to getting back to this game in May, since we had our house fire Sunnyme and I have not really had the chance to play that much. One thing we keep dreaming about is getting back to our house and doing our normal routines such as playing VMK.
This is a real bummer... I am so sorry to all my friends who have been working so hard to help keep fancy and sunny up with all new items. We have met so many good people who have helped put smiles on our faces in such an awful time for us.... and I bet there are many more stories like ours out there,
I bet this is why Movie rewards stopped giving codes as prizes too.

The writing has been on the wall for this for a while but I really tried to ignore it. A friend pointed out to me in January or February that when Disney put out its last annual report, under the Internet section it mentioned POTC, ToonTown and Club Penguin but made absolutely no mention of VMK. They knew back at the start of the year that they were going to close this down.

Ironically, earlier today I went out and bought a copy of Sims 2 for my new computer because starting next week I'm going to be working nights 3 nights a week and on my off nites I would need something to play after VMK signed off. Guess I can start the Sims sooner than I thought.

Just so sad to think of all the "rare" and fun items I've collected over time that I'm going to lose forever when VMK shuts down. I'd be tempted to go over to Toon Town if they would somehow allow us to take our stuff with us.

i never knew vmk would ever end. we have all met so many amazing ppl, i met all u guys bc of vmk. i dont know weather to give all my stuff away or trade it for things that i really want. l8er a new virtual disney game will open, and we will ALL have to start over again. I worked for over a year and a half to get to where i am now, and others have worked for much longer. So many VMK related sites that will be closed. Vmk was great, a way of being in a 'better place' when we need it and a place to share our joys. but, now it just teaches to cherish things while they last and make the best of things. Vmk was one of the best things of my life, a second life. With this, i say farewell to vmk, and i will make the best of its remaining days.
