If you all didn't have taken and the baby thing to complain about you all would find something else. Oh wait...lol most ppl do, it seems dis has become a sounding board for the chronic complainers. First of all, I don't agree with the whole "taken" thing on vmk. I have seen boys telling girls they had to give them rare items in order to be 'taken' by them. I have seen a lot of heartache when the boys and/or girls decide they no longer want to be with that person and get 'dumped'.
While it's true that there should be no place in VMK for 'taken', I can't agree with an "anti-taken" group. In my opinion, you are asking for a ban. Fine, I get that you don't agree with being taken. That is your opinion, your feeling on the issue. Don't do taken. Starting a group of like-minded individuals who's sole intent is to stop something they feel strongly about only results in trouble. I could cite many real-life instances of this, but it wouldn't change anyone's mind. If it did, there would be no violent protests in this world. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
VMK is a virtual PARK. A playground, if you will. There is no place in VMK for organized protests of anything. If you don't like something, nothing is forcing you to stay.
I've seen these groups come and go within VMK. Please think this through before starting or joining any kind of group such as this. Tempers flare and when there are others on your side, things tend to get out of control. Your entire "anti-taken group" could be banned.
For what it's worth, the stance on VMK about taken, as far as I know is still all about 'hook-up' rooms, not that taken is against the VMK values. At least not as written.

And the very next value is the one that could have you banned from the game:

Please take the time to learn these values before you act out on something you disagree with.

Just know a few things. We're not out to "pester" anyone. We're out there to spread all the right things on VMK and to make others notice the wrongness of "taken." Pestering people is not what we're out to do, just make the VMK staff realize that they have something to deal with. Apparently, and unfortunately, they don't notice it yet. Maybe people will notice if we take a stand against it, and therefore fix the problem (and a big problem is what it has become!)

And, finally, we aren't asking for a ban. Just a little more moderation in VMK.

We do not use the word taken in our signature now do we need to announce the fact that we are taken by having a room so wheres the problem????????????

So if you organize rooms to boycott taken it is against values as you will still be using the word taken. PM me when and where I will certainly be there with bells on!!!!!!!!!!

I'm honestly shocked to see you say you would report such rooms when you have said in the past to just leave the rooms we don't like alone. I really mean no offense, but it does seem sort of backwards that you have told people to leave certain rooms alone and let them do their thing, but an anti-taken room idea pops up and you want to report it? Why not let them do their thing too?
Now I do think the idea of an anti-taken room could ask for trouble, and not just necessarily with entanglements with values...I have no doubt that other players would go in for the sole purpose of causing trouble because of the mere idea of the room...and those situations could lead to even more values entanglements. And for those interested in starting such a room, PLEASE leave the word "Dis" out of it. That alone can get you banned since VMK is fully aware what "Dis" is, and they'll know you're referring to an outside site. Just an FYI.

It never hurts someone who has such a negative down with this and down with that to see the other side of the coin.

I have seen the other side of the coin as you and others have posted it any time this topic or bay be topics pop up. I still don't agree, and it's unlikely I ever will. I cannot and will not ever view it as a safe game.

Anyway, BOTH sides of the fence need to realize that it's unlikely anyone's view on this will change, so let's chill out here...as I'm sure some people aren't taking kindly to some of the ill-intended labels being thrown around here.

As for us "complainers", I think Dara really said it well:

Talking about these things here on the boards provides a forum to discuss it. If you don't want to discuss it, then don't read the thread.

Arguments start because there are a lot of people with a lot of differing views. We are going to argue about it. Human nature.

Pretty soon VMK isn't going to let us talk to one another. Only then will "taken" be out of VMK. The Staff is trying their hardest to keep up with the MILLIONS of players on VMK, but don't catch up with the "taken" or "bay be" convos taking place in VMK. There's only so many eyes watching.

And the banning isn't having any effect to this issue. There are people trying to get around their ban. And even when the players who were banned get un-banned they go right back and start it all over again.

Just imagine how boring VMK would be if there was no talking/convos. Or only being able to talk in Host rooms. Where there are Hosts there sometimes. Right now I think that's where VMK is heading. Hopefully they can resolve this "taken" issue soon, so it doesn't become that way.

I do how the chat works for ToonTown...where you can click on pre-approved phrases (I forget what that specific chat is called), but you can freely talk to friends who already know outside of ToonTown and have given them a code to enter for that free chat. Not that it would solve everything, but at the rate VMK is heading in A LOT of issues (and "taken/bay be" is only a small part of it), part of me thinks it would be the best solution is moderation isn't going to be handled properly.

I agree with SkippyPaul.. It is AGAINST VMK Values to have "taken" in your Sig. and in your Room Name. So you are going to get in trouble to have either one of those.

I haven't played ToonTown. So I'm not really sure how it all works, but by the way you're explaining it. It doesn't sound half bad, as in all the Dis people that you have on your Friends List you can give that "Code" to and same with your friends in real life.
