Hola...

In the spirit of clubs, I have been working on a concept that I want to let you guys in on. Not just because a good time will most definitely be had by all, but also because I could use a hand once it's all up and running.

the idea, of course, a VMK version of WDW/PI's famous ADVENTURER'S CLUB! Yes, ladies and gentlemen....I'm putting together the rooms now, and waiting until I can get the new AK room. The concept is for a place for people (mostly adults, but kiddos welcome IF THEY ACT RIGHT!) to have fun, get crazy, and be as much of themselves as VMK can allow without getting banned.

Activities will include:

-The famous BALDERDASH contests
- performances including phone-a-thons, short plays, etc
- Q and A sessions with colorful characters
- silly simon says-style games

and much more...

Roleplay IN THE SPIRIT OF THE CLUB is encouraged, and the main goal is of course to have fun! So, for those of us, like me, who love the IRL AC, this is an opportunity to really cut loose and have some silly fun.

So, what do you think? Would this be something you'd be interested in? What recommendations do you have?

A friend of mine created a series of linked club rooms about six months ago.
When the Mark Twain room came out, I made it into the Library.

It is fabulous!

But be careful about a room for adults to hang out in. Surfferat can tell
you how quickly the Big White Glove can start watching and banning a
hangout room and its occupants.

As another Adventurer Club lover, it sounds great... I made one back when there was little room for creativity, so it turned into a room with a hodge-podge of "adenturer-y" type stuff! :)

Briar's room is a great Library and I can really imagine I am there! I begged her one night to open it up for a friend who loves Adventurer's Club too and I think he was blown away too!

Before the Mark Twain room came out, I was going to use the Haunted Mansion room as my Library, but it never happened. With all the rooms available now, you can probably get a lot more creative.

And as a second to Briar's comment, do make sure it is super kid friendly and not kid friendly the way the performers at the real AC do when parents bring their kiddies there. :)

I also thought that the Mark Twain room would make a good room for The Library, and that's why I bought one, for that purpose.

Mind you, I did have to get creative in the names, because of the ever-so-wonderful VMK Vocabulary restrictions. The Mask Room had to turn into the Tiki Lounge (they won't allow the word "mask"), for example. Now I'm in the process of getting the rooms furnished and decorated.

I know what you mean about the kids that come into the IRL AC, though it's quite funny. We shall be friendly, but we will have a couple of rules that I will not bend on:

- The VMK AC is NOT a "meet market". It's for entertainment, not for folks to run around asking me to "be their boi". If they wish to do that, they can do it somewhere else other than the AC.

- While playful roleplay is encouraged, flaming isn't. Come in and try to start something, and find your butt booted right out the door immediately.

- If someone wants to be a "bay be", then that's fine. But I'm sure that we CAN act in the SPIRIT of the AC, if we can't take it as far.
- the best I'm able to get the signature salute with the current vocabulary is "Kung A Lose!" (for those that don't know, the salute/signature drink/popular saying is "Kungaloosh!" ) Who do I talk to in order to request that a word be allowed into the vocabulary?

- Do you think mules would be better for the characters, or should we just use any old profile?

What do you think?

The "house rules" sound great...

You can go to the Contact Us link on the VMK Homepage and send in a request to add something to the dictionary. Yes...that would be the link affectionately referred to as the black hole! :smooth: Although if you go the request route, I'd leave out the part about it being a drink...no sense pointing that out since that would probably give it an automatic rejection! ;) Another option would be to find that person out there who actually has that title on VMK and beg them to just sit in your room all day long. :teeth: Yes, he or she is out there, as we used to be able to say it! The best I've been able to do is say my friend's name "Kongaloose" but since he has a capital letter, I can only say it with him. Very creative though to figure out we could say "Kung A Lose", I will have to remember that one.

As far as the characters, you'll have a difficult time with mules unless you are creative on spelling. One of the first few times I played VMK, I came across a room owned by HathawayBrown and, wouldn't you know it, he was friends with EmilBleehall! Unless you are going to have "workers" operating the mules or you have a pretty good computer that could handle multiple windows, it may be just as simple to use the "any old profile" route... but that's just my two cents! :goodvibes

Oh - this sounds like so much fun!! I cannot wait to see it. I have to been to BriarLori's room and it was so cool.

You could always make a mule with a similar title Kongalooose or something like that and have him sit in the room with you. :teeth:
