i am exactly the opposite. I wasn't planning on watching, but all you folks on the East Coast spiked my interest so i had to turn it on. Kinda like when someone says "Hey smell this, it smells nasty" and you take a whiff anyway.

Once again, I am reminded how thankful I am that my bad decisions were not recorded for posterity and the internet. One day Miley may (hopefully) look back on that performance and be mortified at her performance. The bear leotard w/the nude bikini peeking out, the stupid gyrations and tongue, bad hair, ugh. Don't even get me started on that stupid finger. There is lots to be embarrassed about. I don't get why she thinks she has to be so out there. There is sexy and hot then there is vulgar and tasteless. Does she not know the difference?

Umm that performance by Miley was like a build a bear commercial gone wrong. Seriously though I am so glad I saw it. Now my kids will not be watching it at all. Don't know how I would explain it to them what the heck was going on because I am not sure myself.

You guys think its revolting or disgusting what she is doing. I think it's disgusting that you watch this garbage in the first place. By supporting MTV and watching this "award" show that has no place on the now musicless channel, you only enable all the talentless garbage like Miley Cyrus or whomever.

It's simply a promotional vehicle paid for by the record companies. The same 5-7 people are nominated for and/or win every "award". The shock value performances increase media exposure and record sales. Why not support a full music and art instead? I guarantee you'll be less disgusted by people who actually have some talent.

I don't think there is any room to complain if you're watching the show in the first place.

The MTV Awards does serve a purpose it serves as entertainment, just as the Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, and so on. As a whole I dont think the MTV awards are complete garbage, yes I may not have liked the Miley Cyrus performance but there were other performances I did like such as Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars, both who I think are excellent performers.

And I just love when these "celebrities" feign shock that their shocking behavior was, in fact, shocking.

Since when does proving you're an adult mean acting like a tramp? I guess my age will show when I say "I remember when acting like an adult meant acting responsibly and respectfully." I get edgy, I get sexy, but her performance was just BAD from an artistic and "talent" perspective, IMHO.
