Her performance was absolutely revolting. It makes me sad to think my dd was once a huge fan of hers. Her 2nd birthday party was Hannah Montana themed. She is now 6 and I would have loved to tell her Miley Cyrus was on tv. But I knew better than to allow her to watch. And even still, I could never have imagined just how trashy she could be. Miley really isn't Hannah anymore. RIP Hannah Montana

I'm LOVING Justin Timberlake's set. It feels like it's been a whole concert, and the mini Nsync reunion just made my day.

I love watching the audience reactions. Taylor Swift is dancing like nobody's watching, Rihanna is totally grooving in her own world, it's so much fun to watch!

Miley Cyrus was wearing more than Lady Gaga, but I guess former Disney stars are held to a different standard forever? : Sure, she looked trashy but that's par for the course with pop music and has been since Madonna's pointy bra.

It's not so much what she was wearing. It was a) her lack of talent aside from shaking her bum and b) the kind of pathetic attempts at being sexy.

Lady Gaga, while sometimes unnecessarily provocative, has talent and her style is reaching for art, not just sex. (She might not get there, but she tries.)

I have no problem with female sexuality--it's the sheer banal desperation of MC that I find so unappealing.

It wasn't what she was wearing. It was her performance. It was extremely sleazy and skeezy.

Miley got down to what looked like a bra and panties but it really wasn't what she had on but the things she kept doing.

Lady Ga Ga is what she is, but she can sing and she can dance. Miley can NOT dance and looks like a fool trying.

Its not about being held to a different standard. That trainwreck should have never been put on stage whether it was a former Disney star or not.

So I'm not watching the VMA's but had to see what this whole Miley hoopla is about. Just watched a bit of the performance on youtube and here is my take. The whole beginning tongue thing is trying to emulate the character on her costume so I see the connection. However, it's still not attractive. The Robin Thicke duet with her nude bikini looks like she is trying to emulate the video for Blurred Lines. In the unrated version (which I peeked at today) he's in that stripey suit and has a topless model with nude underwear. I originally thought the model was totally nude in the video but it looked like she was wearing panties. Didn't get why Miley was all in his face and was kinda skanky rubbing that finger all on him. It could've been classy but obviously she wants to shed any good girl image and is going for the shock and skank factor.
