Viva Italia on points

Thanks for your review, and I'm looking forward to your detailed report. I think we should have an ABD sub-forum on these boards. I've been searching for information for a long time, and it seems hard to come by, even from Disney.

My daughter turns 7 in February and we were considering a tour next summer. Would you consider that too young for the tour you went on?

Thanks again for posting, and I can't wait to read more. Glad you had a great trip!

I don't know how mature your 7 year old is, but I think 9 or 10 would be the VERY youngest I'd consider for Europe at least.

Yes, Disney does a lot to accomodate the needs and wishes of children on their adventures, but Italy? Hmmmm. You need to remember that one of the biggest draws of Italy is the art and architecture and the knowledge of just how OLD everything is. Yes, there was the pasta making. Yes, we did masks, but overall for a small child, they woulnd't grasp the significance of all they were seeing.

The mother of the family on our trip asked me if I'd changed my mind and regretted not bringing my children (DS 10 & DD 13 . . . old 10 and young 13) and I paused. I did regret not getting to see them enjoy the parts they would have enjoyed. On the other hand, the trip would have been completely different for me so no, I didn't regret it . . . perhaps selfishly . . . because I got so much more out of it than I would have, had I needed to shepherd my kids, be sure they were behaving, making sure they understood what was going on and generally making sure during the times they were bored, that they weren't distrubing others.

On the other hand, would I take my kids on some of the other itineraries? You bet!!!!!! Would I miss them terribly on some of the Adventures? You bet!!!! In fact, we're planning on doing the Wyoming Adventure this summer. I hear Costa Rica is good for kids too. We live too close to Philly and have taken them to Williamsburg so that's out for us, but I think that would be another outstanding Adventure for children as young as yours.

Just my opinion of course, but if I were you, I'd wait to take your daughter to Europe until she's a bit older.

Thanks for the input. I tend to agree with you, but the wait seems so long! :teeth:

Maybe DH and I will have to go on our own to "check things out" first ;)

Thanks again!

Yes please post back here and let us know where you put your trippie! I can't wait to read it!
