Vistana Villages or HIFS

I have booked the entertainment rate at HIFS for $102.50 for 5 nights in March and have stayed there before and know what to expect. BUT....I just got an offer in the mail from the Vistana Villages for $199 for 4 nights in a one bedroom villa which includes $100 towards park tickets. The offer says nothing about sitting through a timeshare presentation, but I imagine when I call, they will tell me that I will need to sit through the standard 90 minute talk.

Has anyone received/accepted this offer? Is it really a good deal or am I missing something?

How "high-pressure" is the presentation? Since the original mailing doesn't mention the timeshare presentation as part of the offer, do you think I can get away without sitting through it? We would never buy and I just can't be bothered to waste time hearing their sales pitch.

Any idea if I could upgrade the offer to a two bedroom and add on another night?

Would you go with the Villages or HIFS?

How far is the villages from the parks?

I can not imagine that the rate you quoted would not be for a timeshare presentation for the Vistana Villages. As you know, that is a very good rate. If you can't be bothered with going to the presentation, then HIFS might be your option.

A couple other people have received these offers, and it really is without the timeshare tour. I wish I had been one of the lucky few, but it hasn't happened yet. How did you get the offer? By mail or phone?

About the two bedroom, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Oh, I didn't answer the rest. I would definitely stay at V V at that rate over HIFS, and we have stayed at both. It is a few miles straight down the road from HIFS, past the outlet mall, on the right (driving away from the Disney exit), a very easy and short drive.

I received the offer in the mail today. I'm not sure what mailing list I might be on, but I'll admit I've sent away for Florida vacation information packages along with the Disney DVD, so maybe somehow Vistana Villages scooped up my name there. I used to get timeshare telephone calls all the time but since I put my name on the National Do Not Call list, I haven't had one! Maybe since they can't call me, they decided to mail me the offer. Who knows. I think I'll call just to see if I could get a two bedroom and see if they mention the timeshare presentation. My husband just read over the offer and small print and didn't see any mention of sitting through their sales pitch either.

I received a similar offer last May which I signed up for however it was $179 and I have to attend a 90 minute presentation.

I received this offer in the mail and I called yesterday. The agent told me that there is no timeshare presentation required. I asked her if it is possible to upgrade since we have 3 children. She said that a two bedroom will cost $80 more for the 4 night package. It seems like a good deal except that we usually stay on-site. We're not planning on travelling until August so if anyone uses this package in the meantime, would appreciate any information.

Is there some kind of pin number associated with this offer or do you think I could call and ask about it for myself??? I didn't receive this offer in the mail.

Maggie

There is a specific "preferred reservation" number on the invitation. Probably so they can track how they do with the mailings.
