Does anyone know what section of Vistana I would be in if we have a Sunday check-in and the unit says it is a 6/6. Thanks so much Donna

I'm fairly familiar with the Vistana, but I've never seen the term "6/6" to describe the unit, sorry. If you have a unit #, I can look up your section.

6/6 with Sunday check-in is in the older Falls section. 6/6 refers to 1 king bed and two twin beds.

Thanks for the info. Has anyone been in the Falls units and how are they. Are they small or larger units. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

DONNAMW,

Here is a thread where we discussed the units in depth. Look for my thoughts on the Falls section and also I posted a link to some pictures that I took of the unit. There is a huge difference between the older units and the newer Cascade and Lakes units (the pics you see advertised). Look at the pictures to see the difference. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Mudd77,
Thanks so much for the pics and info. I do see the difference. But we are in Fairfield Cypress palms this week and don't see too much difference then what is at the older Vistana. Like in the kitchen the microwave in on the counter, small sink and no cabinet to put our groceries. But the place is clean and the grounds and pool are nicely landscaped. For what we are paying through skyauction it is a deal and would not hesitate to stay here again.
So the pics of the older section do not scare me. I am not going to worry anymore.
A few questions. Is there floor room in the twin room for an air mattress and was there a tv in the second bedroom?
Was the sofa bed uncomfortable?
Thanks so much for your help. We will be at Vistana next week also but we have a Sunday check in 8/6 so I don't know where we will be again. But it is going to be our first stay, so we can check the place out. We have a total of 3 weeks this winter there. Thanks Donna

DONNAMW:
We had a Sunday checkin in July 2004 and were placed in a Falls Unit. We loved the location. Our unit was directly across the pool with the slide, and children's playground. In addition, we had easy access to 2 other pools (one the Super Pool), an activity center, a fitness room, the minature golf course, arcades, etc. It was also a short walk to the General Store and the Cascade Pool. Our DS (age 8) liked the pool with the slide the best - and we tried them all out!!!

The Falls units are 2 story units with no elevators. It wasn't an issue for us. We had a top floor unit and it was very quiet. Our screened in "balcony" was pretty large with a table/chairs that looked out at a pond - very peaceful. The unit was clean and it looked like it had been redecorated sometime in the past couple of years. We were very pleased with it and it's location. The only "negative" was the jacuzzi was part of the master shower and not one of the huge ones like we have had a the Vistana Villages nor the Marriott Grand Vista. We didn't use it. We found the kitchen well stocked. When we first checked in, the ice maker wasn't working, so we placed a call to maintenance. Someone immediately brought us over a bag of ice! Maybe a couple of hours later, maintenance showed up and fixed the ice maker. We were very impressed by the staff at this facility.

This visit was our second visit to the VR. We mainly spent our week at the resort and participated in a lot of the activities. We really like the location of this resort and now feel very comfortable navigating this area of Lake Buena Vista. We won this week on this week on Skyauction and it worked great. What a deal!!

Oh - I just read your questions. Yes, there is a bit of floor space in the second bedroom. IMHO there isn't enough room for an air mattress. Yes, there is a TV in the bedroom. We didn't use the sofa bed on this trip, so I can't answer your question.

Enjoy your visit!! Let me know if you have any more questions.

If the sofa bed is the same as the one in our unit in Spas it is very comfortable. My boys argue over who gets to sleep on it rather than the bed.

The only "negative" was the jacuzzi was part of the master shower and not one of the huge ones like we have had a the Vistana Villages nor the Marriott Grand Vista. We didn't use it.
Only the Cascades, Lakes and Fountains II have the stand-alone larger jacuzzi in the master bedroom. All other resorts have an oversized, sunken whirlpool tub or similar in the master bathroom.
Also, I'd have to agree with Mudd....it does sound like the OP has the Falls because that section is the only one that has 2 twin beds (not doubles) in the second bedroom.

Thanks for all the info.

Also did anyone use the transportation to disney from vistana. Was there a charge? was it efficient? Thanks Donna

I wanted to add, you just might want to request a unit near a pool, away from 535/I-4 traffic - so you can be assigned an inside unit. It will be much quieter. Have you signed up for Diamond Lane checkin at the Sheraton website? You can do this even with a skyauction ressie.

We did not use Vistana transportation to the parks. I would highly recommend a rental car for this resort. It's very spread out and will be quite a hike to the main building where the shuttles pick up/drop off. Plus the times aren't the greatest. I also believe they charge per person.

I also hightly recommend a rental car. The resort itself is very spread out and I think the shuttle is something like $6-$7/pp/day and your stuck having to comply with the shuttle schedule. Having a car, you can go out of the resort to shop for groceries for your villa. The General Store at the resort is very costly and has limited items.

I definitely second the rental car! If you need help finding good rates, check out mousesavers.com.
