Has anyone stayed at the Vistana Resort? If so how was your stay?

Your best bet to get responses here is to post on the board for Orlando Attractions and (I think) other hotels. If you go back to the list of trip planning forums, just scroll down looking for the forum not pertaining to Disney Wrold. They even have a section that reviews hotels and resorts.

:thumbsup2 we stayed split trip in June on great TS offer, wonderful resort...very close to WDW.

Agree to check out other thread.

We stayed there last March. It was lovely. We stayed in the Lakes section. We would definately stay there again.

Make sure you request the Cascade section and if given fountains section dont move from counter request another section it is that terrible. Using a getaway week through II was given room 1051 in Fountains. To give you a visual just think of the most seediest motel on some dirt road and that will be the Fountains in room 1051 our view was a swamp and 48 ft trucks with old patio furniture outside of them. Appliances furniture was soiled and there was an insect problem(roaches). I was immediately moved to Cascades section 2292 5th floor across from main pool and Activities/ Time Share Building. Very nice Like a time share should look. The gorunds well kept and feel like something that you might want to Buy. Their explanation for the time share look of Haves and Have Not was due to the multiple HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATIONS. My response was dont even bother people with tmeshares pesentations if you would even think of putting anyone in such dilapidated apartments

2 important things I forgot to post:

1) if you do stay there, sign up for diamond lane check-in on on-line site, regular check-in was really long & winding.

2) unplug your phones:rolleyes1 , the guides like to check on you - often;)

We stayed for 4 nights when our home was still rented.

Pros
I think the resort was beautiful, fun pools, play areas such as swing set, basket ball court, tandem bike rentals etc... attentive staff, clean place to stay

Cons
We were staying on the third floor with no elevator it was not bad leaving but coming home at night with my 3 year old was hard, bringing in luggage really rotted
Had to drive to pools
Mini golf needs some sprucing up

All of those cons are not anything you can not live with that is for sure.

We stayed here last October...asked for Lakes, Cascades or Fountains..top floor close to the pool. We received a room on the 3rd floor looking at the pool in the Fountains I section..It was Great! Clean, quiet and we had nothing to complain about except them calling with the timeshare spiel. After we had told them no about 3 times, they asked to talk to my 7 yo son! However, I would not worry too much about them calling..they were not what I would consider high pressure....

The location is wonderful..very close to Disney and close to restaurants, etc.

Taurus.....
I disagree with your description of the Fountains 100%. I own in that section. First of all, there is no #1051 Fountains unit ?
Here are recent pics from Fountains sections---they are separated into Fountains I and II. I has the jacuzzi in the master bathroom, while II has the jacuzzi in the master bedroom. These are recent pics. Fountains I was from 2005 and Fountains II was from 2 weeks ago:

To Taurus....I can't find any Fountains villa or Vistana villa for that matter that is #1051. I've owned there since '94. In 12 years of ownership, we've only missed one year of not staying there. We never had a room anything near to what you described. I looked up #1351, #1451, #1651 & they all have pond/fountain views. #1551 has a view of the Fountains pool. So I have absolutely no idea what Taurus is talking about. At least not with this room number ?
We have never had a bad room or bad view with the Fountains in 12 years of vacationing in that section. I will admit the Cascades is newer and more modern, but what Taurus described it totally foreign to me. To describe it as the "seediest motel" ??? :confused3 You can see from my pics it's nothing like what Taurus described. I have many more pics from over the years to back this up.

I thought that the Fountains area looked nice when we were there. We loved the resort.

We just stayed there for 2 weeks (middle 2 weeks in August). We requested Cascades (as everyone seemed to recommend that) but we got Lakes. We had no complaints whatsoever. The unit was extremely well equipped, very clean, well decorated etc. The site is very big so if you have a preference for a particular pool (or want to use the internet) you may have to drive from one part to the other. However, no unit is far from at least one pool and activity area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. :thumbsup2

As for timeshare calls, it may be because we're English so they didn't think we would be a good proposition, but once we said we weren't interested we didn't receive any more calls.

We stayed at Vistana in APril (11 & 12) and found it to be very close to WDW and highway access to Universal. We stayed there 2 days before heading over to CSR. I couldn't find a single room on Disney property for the 2 days so I found this place on the internet and got a great rate of $175.00 (very good for Easter/Spring break week) per night for the 2 bedroom villa. We stayed in the PALMS section, room 719. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the suites. The rooms were huge, 3 tv's, a vcr, 2 bathrooms, very clean and well maintained. We had no complaints.

We didn't get a chance to use the pool but to a walk over to view it. The general store had a Pizza Hut Express but the overall store was small.

I would stay here again if I could get a similar rate.

We stayed last Nov. in a 2 BD suite (Lakes Section). I won the week on Skyauction, it was great!
So close to Disney, and a really pretty resort.
