This is just for a 2 night stay before heading to Windsor Hills for a week. Looking at 2 bath/2 beds and I've narrowed to these two. Vistana Resort is cheaper. I don't mind paying the extra for Caribe Royale if anyone thinks that the rooms are much nicer.. or the amenities much better. We won't be going to Disney on these days, so the location is not an issue. I guess I'm basically just looking for opinions from anyone who has been to one or the other, or both!?
Which would you choose?
Thank you
Stayed at both, enjoyed both. We stayed at the Vistana resort in 2003, it is huge, with different sections, from old (1970's) to newer (2003). We stayed in the older area. As the OP stated this section of the Vistana was dated. I think we stayed in the Fountains, but I'm not too sure. The rooms were very large, we did have a full size kitchen, dining room, maid service, patio, walk-in closet etc... The Cascades section was newer and beautifully decorated and spacious. There were a few restaurants on property, including a pizza hut. A miniature golf course, surrey bikes and 5 or 6 pools. The Main pool was beautiful with a rock formations and water cascading down.
The Caribe Royale is a beautiful resort, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are large, we are a family of 5, and were quite comfortable. The pool at that time was like a mini water park, unfortunately we never got to use it, although the staff said we couldv'e spent as much time there as we wanted. We stayed here only for 1 night. If memory serves me correctly, both resorts are quite close to each other, I believe across the street from each other, but I could be wrong, sorry it's been a while since we were there(2006). The atmosphere felt more tropical, whereas the Vistana felt more homey. The Caribe Royale didn't look dated to me. Both resorts are lovely. Hope this helps a little.
