We are staying there at the end of June. I have read that they sometimes pay you to attend their presentations. What is the most anyone has received to attend? Is it cash or discount coupons? Just curious, in case they ask.
Thanks.

The most we ever received was 10 years ago and it was $100 in Vistana money. The most recent time was in 2000 and it was $50 in Vistana money. Vistana money can be used at any of the restaurants on property or in the General Store etc.

We went to a Marriott timeshare just off internationl drive on our first trip in 2001. We got $75 (in disney dollars) the time share was beautiful,
but the hard sell is awful - we were struck there for over 2 and half hours before they even shown us the apartment. They also wanted us to sign up there and then.

Unless your have time to waste on your holiday I WOULD'NT bother going. Read the small print before you attend a timeshare, as you have to be there at least for 90 mins - and we sat around for 1 hour before someone came over and spoke to us - I think thats part of their game plan to wear people down, then they sign up.

I agree with Maureen about the money not being worth it to waste your precious vacation time. Vistana can be a hard-sell. So much, in fact, that after our last presentation in 2000 (we were looking to add-on time at Vistana), we left so disgusted that we marched ourselves over to DVC and purchased ! Our Vistana salesman was getting really bent-out-of-shape when he felt he was "losing" us as potential customers. We felt he got sort of passive aggressive and left us hanging for an additional 30 min (for a total of 2 hours and 15 min !) before releasing us and giving us our money. Left a very bad taste in our mouth.

We were at Vistana in December 04 and attended the timeshare presentation and received a check for $50.00 that we could cash in the reception center where you buy attraction tickets.

You can hold them to 90 minutes or whatever the time they advertised, starting with your appointment time but not counting the time you spend at their complimentary breakfast if any.

Nowadays Disney tickets are generally not recommended as your choice of timeshare gifts. They may be "promotional" passes that cannot be traded up to longer passes and could be worth as little as three dollars apiece when combined with a regular Magic Your Way pass for the rest of a 5 to 10 day Disney vacation.
