Visitor Toll Pass returning

At the 5/13/21 CFX board meeting, it was stated that the Visitor Toll Pass will return to MCO this summer, hopefully sometime in June. The VTP was the popular program that allowed travelers arriving at the airport to borrow a free transponder for use in their rental car while in the Orlando area, and return it when returning the rental car. The transponder was good on both E-PASS & SunPass roads.

I'm debating this for my October trip. Should I get a VTP or bring my IL IPass? Theoretically I'm only going to be on 528 which takes the IPass.

Unless, by some miracle, SunPass has started accepting E-ZPass by then, I'd recommend getting the VTP if you'll be getting a rental car. It costs nothing, and you won't have to worry about accidentally triggering the rental car's daily fee for tolls.

Glad to hear this news for visitors flying in. It's a big deal, and solves the problems we had several years ago with the rental companies really gouging renters for tolls. Things got so bad, the Florida Attorney General had to intercede.

I have not heard about this Toll Pass before. We were there in March and was charged a lot extra from the rental car company for using their transponder. When we got back we were thinking about buying a transponder from the sun pass website but if this is a free option, we probably will do this instead
