Visiting twice in a short space of time?

Hi everyone!

I'm sure that I'm worrying over nothing but just wanted to get some opinions.
Our family is going to Disney in late November, this has been planned for some time. We're going for 4 days/3 nights.

However I found out a couple of days ago that a good friend of mine has also surprised me with a trip, with us two going for the same amount of time (in the same hotel) about three weeks after my November trip.

The friend was doing this out of pure kindness and didn't realise I was going on a trip with my family so soon before.

It may seem like a silly question to ask, but do you think the first trip will ruin the magic of my second trip? I've been going to Disney for years now and still absolutely adore it, so I guess that should answer my question! But I'm just concerned that I won't enjoy the second trip as much now.

I guess it depends entirely on the individual as everyone will be different, but I was just curious as to whether anyone else has been in a similar situation and how they found it?

Thanks in advance for any experiences anyone could provide :cloud9:

i have not gone twice in quite that short of a time span but i have gone in mid september and then in late november and i was so happy to be able to go twice within about a 10 week span.

if you adore WDW as much as i do you will not feel like going twice in 3 weeks has "ruined the magic".

Since both trips are short, you have a chance to focus your activities and dining in different ways so each trip is special. Perhaps spend time in Epcot with your friend enjoying the lounges in WS, go to a spa, go to tea at the GF, something you might not do with your family. There are so many dining choices that it won't be difficult to eat at completely different restaurants for each trip. Enjoy!

I don't think the previous posters quite noticed which board they were posting on. :p but they made good points in any case.

I think you'll be fine. Especially as you're visiting with different people both trips.

It will give you the luxury to slow down. Focus some time on the village or costing the hotels etc. You could even venture out to Paris for a day or Val d'Europe?

Also maybe don't buy much on your fist trip. Just have a browse. Then you can go a bit shopping crazy second time round. :) There may also be more Xmas stuff about on you second trip.

I think you'll find that you'll have a wonderful time the second time. It's wonderful to travel with family, but think about how relaxing it will to be only two adult friends visiting Disney. That will cast a different light on your trip. With my kids, there is no time to linger and admire the details on Main Street, for example. If I were just with a friend, that wouldn't be a problem.

I think you'll be fine too - maybe you'd never plan to do trips quite so close together but as both trips are with different people they'll feel quite different from each other ..... what a lovely friend you have! :goodvibes

Good advice :thumbsup2 ..... if you can resist! ;)

i'm sure you'll have a wonderful time on both trips - and you'll have loads of christmas stuff to show your friend on your 2nd one :goodvibes.

Thank you to everyone with the many replies of reassurance :goodvibes

I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing and will have a wonderful time (Christmas is my favourite season at Disney!)

Just to add my 2p-worth to everyone else's lovely comments - I too think it won't matter one little bit that you're having 2 trips so close together.

As soon as I come back from DLP, I'm already missing the place so I know I'd love to be in your position!

Would your lovely friend like another friend to surprise? ;) :rotfl:

You'll be fine! Nothing can ruin the magic if it's in your heart ;)
I actually go to DLP this Friday for a short visit, and my next visit will be only 6 days later!

You will be fine. I've just come back from my third trip this year and when you arrive at the resort you fell like you have never left.

It's fun going with other people as you will not do the same things with them as you will with your family. Relax and have fun - that's what Disney is for.

We booked as a couple to go in Mid June as we wanted to see Swing In To Spring. We then got the chance to take the kids for the soft opening of Ratatouille just 2 weeks later. I ws worried it would all be too much, but the 2 trips had very different vibes. Both great trips and I am sure yours will be too.

Having two trips close together can be great. A few years ago I went to DLP one weekend (stayed in the Disneyland hotel for the Halloween party) and then the following weekend went back again (with different people; staying in the New York this time) for the start of the Christmas season. Both trips were equally as fun as oneanother. In fact it was great as there were a few things I wished I had bought after the 1st trip so I picked them up the week after!

We've done trips close together - and never feel like we're left! It's fab as far as I'm concerned, I won't leave until I know the date I'll be back ;-)
