Looking to check out several of the resorts while at disney(research for next stay). Is there a problem with this? Also is there any issue with parking at these other resorts while visiting?

You are welcome to check out the Disney resorts. Just tell the guard at the gate that you want to look around the resort. They won't have a problem with it. At the deluxe hotels on the monorail line, you will be given a parking permit that will allow you to park for three hours only. This is to keep folks from parking at the hotels where they are not staying and taking the monorail to the parks.

You are welcome (and often encouraged) to check out other resorts and are free to park there while doing so. Some of them have a limit on how long you park because they try to discourage folks from parking at a hotel in order to avoid paying for parking at a Theme Park.

The only down side is that it can be time consuming. But if you're loving it, who cares? :)
