Visiting Resorts?

Is there a way to visit the various WDW Resort Hotels without having to pay to park to do so? We got on the monorail and visited the Polynisian, GF, and CR, but when trying to visit the other resorts, we saw we had to pay. Maybe I was in the wrong area. Would like to visit the different resorts at Christmas to see how they decorate w/o having to pay to park. Any help would be appreciated.

Pardon the obvious question, but should I assume you are not staying at a WDW resort?

Disney resorts don't charge to park. There is a guard shack at each resort. Perhaps you though they were there to charge you. You just need to drive up to the shack and tell the guard you are there to visit the resort. He will ask for ID and will tell you where to park. If it's at a deluxe resort, you may be given a 3 hour parking pass to display in your windshield.

They don't charge you, but you can't stay all day. Just drive up to the guard booth and tell them why you are there and they will let you in.

You could pay to park at the TTC and then take the resort buses to the ones you'd want to see.
