We'll be staying at WDW during the busy Christmas season this year and we're thinking about visiting various other WDW resorts on a few days, instead of fighting the crowds at the parks. Which resorts should we visit and what can we see and do at them while we are visiting?

If you don't have a car handy, the easiest resorts to visit will be those near MK and those near Epcot.

In GF you will find a huge tree decorated in Victorian Style. There is a lifesized Gingerbread house, and a great model train. Everything is done in reds and golds, and is quite ornate and beautiful!

At the WL, you will find a very cozy atmosphere, with a fireplace, a huge tree, large natural pine wreaths and garland.

At the Beach Club, you will find a large tree and a miniature carousel in the lobby, which is quite beautiful.

If I remember correctly, and they haven't changed it since 2000, at the Boardwalk the tree is decorated in many poincettias, and you will find poincettias everywhere.

To us, those were the most elaborately decorated resorts.

Have a great time:)

We hop the monorail and visit the GF, PR & CR. Then from the CR, catch the boat to the WL. They are all nice. We've also seen the BWV, BC & CBR all done up. The ones we like the best though are the GF & WL. It is a great activity touring the resorts while they are decorated for Christmas.

it is fabulous and they have a "public" viewing area where you can see the animals.

Defianately visit the Wilderness Lodge. It's breathtaking! The lobby has to be seen to be believed. My mouth still falls open every time I walk in there - especially at Christmas. The tree is absolutely incredible and you can grab some hot chocolate from the snack bar and relax in one the rocking chairs in front of the gigantic fireplace. It's so cozy and Christmasy. While you are there, take time to wander around outside and check out the courtyard area. If you time it right, you can even see Firerock Geyser go off. We love the lodge! You can drive over if you have a car, or you could take a short, fun boat ride over from the Magic Kingdom. We don't think any other resorts compare to the lodge at Christmas time!
