bring in the new year at? Since this is last minute and I just thought wow we've NEVER been away from our house sitting on the couch watching the countdown on t.v. We are gonna be at PBH US/IOA for the New Year. Where would you be on New Years?

Would you dine at Mythos? Would you be at Margaritville? Would you be screaming on the HULK? Would you be with your family in the family? Would you be at Del Toro Rivera? Where if not there?LOL (dr. suess coming out in me.LOL)

I am trying to figure out the same thing LOL! I'm leaning toward Mytho's. Waiting to hear if MsDisney was able to find out any info about prices etc. from her visit this weekend. MsDisney any luck?

I'm thinking of a quiet ring in with the husband on the balcony of our room with some great champane and PBH makes great chocolate strawberrys.hmmmm With hopefully a view of the fireworks.

If I was at a Universal resort...I would ring in the New year at the private City Walk party...it is a must do for anyone there!

Enjoy!

it's usually like $100 per person and you get *i think* free buffet and a free champagne toast, plus a very good viewing area from citywalk to watch the tri-area fireworks.

Last year at MYTHOS new years prices ranged from 65 to 85 per person depending on which entree you selected. :smooth:

I check the Universal site and the cost is 99 a person, buffett, champhane toast and party favors, and concert by Cheap Trick and Three Dog Night! Thanks for the info I did'nt know about this. Tickets were not for sale on the site yesterday the button was there but not activated yet. Says limited number of tickets so keep that in mind if your going to go.

They are going to start figuring out what they plan to do soon...but they WILL be having a NYE dinner and as soon as we know what they are planning (menu, etc.) we'll certainly let you know!

MIB9's and I will definitely be there to ring in our first New Year as a couple together...what better place to do it? (for us at least!) Mythos is definitely a very special place to us! :bounce:

Karen :smooth:

GO HERE FOR INFO ON NEW YEARS EVE CITYWALK: http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/orlando/website/holiday2002_citywalk.html

Also Margie, I called PBH (I know again.LOL) Was asking about what the hotel would be doing for the holidays and if anything special was happening for NewYears and got a YES. She told me that she knew things were in the works but they would'nt release to them all the details yet but they will give them info as soon as Thanksgiving is over and for us to call back. Oh and I found out that there are two Villa Suites that have Balcony's.LOL:p And that I will be able to see the fireworks from my room;) I know this people must get paid well to put up with me.

Unless my kids will be allowed in to the Citywalk party that is out for me. Can you get into the concert with kids? I doubt that will be an option either though. Factoring into my plans will also be the problem of my 16 year old daughter wanting to spend the evening with her Florida boyfriend, and wanting nothing to do with us. So we are going to need to keep tabs on them. I am sure my husband will let every employee know about them and to be on the lookout LOL!

We are looking into the option on hiring a nanny to be with us on our trip. I was recommend to www.sunshinebabysitting.com by a lady i'm renting a house from for next summer. You can get someone for 200 for two nights and two days! I sure could use the help esp. if my sil is not going with us. Or I'd rather not take my nanny from home with us this trip. I really wanted to wing it and just have a mothers helper lined up for nights out. The parks will be open late so far hours posted for our stay is 8-11 they have not posted the last couple of days for december yet but i'm sure it'll be late hours. We'd like to take advantage of the late hours exploring the parks and having quiet suppers out. My kids go down at 8 except for the 10yo who is up till 10 or so.

PartyofSix, do you think they would let me have they other Villa Suite (with another bedroom attached) for what I am paying for my rooms LOL!!!!!????? A balcony with a view of the fire works might just solve my problem! Getting away for a couple of hours won't be a problem for me, my 14 year old will babysit. I just can't do that to him on New Years eve though.

Children are not allowed into the party at city walk...you must be 21...you must be 21 on a regular night, with the exception of teen night (can't remember the name right now...old age I guess..lol).

Just go to citywalk.com if you have teens...it is listed on there.
