They scan your Magic Bands when you drive up to the resort. Guests of that particular resort can enter by just scanning their band and the gate opens. Guests who are staying onsite at another resort have to use the entrance manned by a security guard. Since BWI/BWV get a lot of people who want to park in the resort lot so that they can enjoy the Boardwalk amenities, your sister may run into a problem parking there unless they have an ADR at one of the BW restaurants.I have a similar question so I figured I could ask here.
We are flying, but my sister's family is driving. They are staying at ASP and we're staying at BW. Could we give them her plate number as if it were ours? (note that they wouldn't need to park at our resort for Disney transportation because they are also staying onsite) The only reason I would think they would need to come to our resort is one night they are going to watch our kids while we go out (we will be reversing the favor as well)?

I've never attempted to use a child's Magic Band to enter through the parking gate. Since children cannot drive, I don't know if they would work or not. We have always used the driver's Magic Band to enter since it is the most convenient to the window where the Magic Band reader is located. So if my kids are with her (since she's watching them) their bands would work, correct?
This is why I would also need a parking pass?
I read that now with the straight-to-the-room on line check in, they are doing away with the paper parking passes and instead, scanning the magic bands for parking.I've never attempted to use a child's Magic Band to enter through the parking gate. The Magic Band just gains you entrance to the parking lot. The parking pass identifies your parked vehicle as being permitted to stay in the lot longer than 3 hours.
I have a similar question and just decided to post it here instead of creating a new thread.
If I am staying at the Polynesian, can a non-resort guest come pick me up/drop me off at the lobby? Or do they have to have dining reservations/be a resort guest to get past security?
So glad to hear this! ThanksBack in February I had a friend of mine come and pick me up at the GF -- he merely had to pull up to the guard house and tell them that he was there to pick me up - they verified that I was a guest and he pulled right up to get me, no problem at all. When we returned later in the day, he used my MB and opened the gate that way.
