Visiting Downtown Disney Before Touch of Disney Event

Hi everyone. Wondering if anyone has visited DD before going to the touch of disney event? Thinking of going to Wonderground Gallery prior to going to event. I want to be there when the DD parking lot opens. I dont mind paying. Did anyone experience problems getting to the event from DD? I guess I'm afraid they will send me all the way back to Mickey and Friends Structure to take the tram walkway

It is no problem, we walked in from the Harbor side. We arrived at the opening of DTD and then at 11:30 headed to DCA to get in line.

You can park wherever you want. There is no requirement to park at M&F. The only catch (as you know) is your parking voucher is only good for M&F and you'll need to pay extra to park at Simba or any other lot that charges.

I personally walked from my hotel and entered on the Harbor side.

We did this when we went - when we left in the evening, DTD was full and there was a HUGE line to get in. So, if that happens, you’ll need to go to the manager at the front and ask to get through just to get back to your car. (Wasn’t a problem, but just FYI.)

We were just there this last weekend. I don't know if it's acceptable to say, but we shared videos of our experience on our YouTube channel if you wanted to actually see what it was like.

I walked right by Wonderground Gallery and it was pretty busy! All in all, Downtown Disney is super easy to get into a loads of fun. We only spent 2 hours there before heading to Knott's Berry Farm for the Taste of Boysenberry Festival, but the time we spent there we had a blast.

It felt so good just to be back on Disney property after a year of being away. I don't know why we didn't go to Downtown Disney earlier.
