Hello,

I will be on the August 05 repositioning cruise. We are flying in two days before and instead of doing disneyland we want to relax on a beach.

I'm still in the early planning stages here so I don't know the distances between any two points but I was thinking of staying at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. Has anyone stayed there? It looks beautiful online. Is it actually beachfront or do you have to walk a distance to the beach?

We plan on flying from into Long Beach Airport. Any feedback, comments would be appreciated. Does anyone know how far the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro is from the Hyatt?

Thanks very much!

Mary

I've not stayed there but my neighbor did and said it's a beautiful hotel. It's a brand new hotel that just opened earlier this year. The hotel is directly across the street from the beach which is as close as you can get in Huntington Beach. The Hyatt has a bridge from the hotel to the beach side of the street. Just a few more feet across the beach parking lot and your there. You should note that parking at the Hyatt is $20/day. You can park across the street at the beach parking lot for $10.00. The downside is that the parking lot closes at around 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. so you have to make sure your car is in the lot by then.

Distance between the port to the Hyatt probably is about 30 - 40 mins. drive. Traffic is the biggest wild card though. That 30 mins. drive could easily double or triple during rush hour.

The Long Beach airport is a great little airport. You'll be in and out of there much quicker than if you flew into LAX.

Thank you so much! I've been doing a bit of reading but it is great to hear it from someone.

Thanks again.

I stayed there in May 2004. I will send you a link to my pictures if you like.

Tink,

I would love that link. Thank you!

P.S. Any other suggestions or locations are most welcome.
