HI guys,

I've been reading through the threads here and you're all so great for giving us so much infomration!

My family and I will arrive at the park tomorrow morning and will be there until Saturday evening and I wondered if you could give me any tips on what rides to make sure I go to, best spots on parade, secret parts and anything to avoid? Also are the restaurants value for money?

We are staying at the Santa Fe.

Thanks

Hi joanne212 and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

As you'll be spending your time packing I'd suggest a quick read of The Very Useful Info sticky for secrets and the Restaurant sticky at the top of the board for reviews :)

Have a great trip :thumbsup2

Hi Joanne

You'll have a fab time, sounds like you've got lots of time to go round all the rides. Our family faves were Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Carribbean. We did 5 nights and went on the rides what seemed like hundreds of times!

For meals we'd eat midafternoon, the queues for restaurants were horrific at meal times and we didn't want to pre-book anywhere. We had little snacks, took our own bottled water and cereal bars plus anything we might have "borrowed" from the breakfast buffet :rolleyes1 We didn't think much of Planet Hollywood at all but really enjoyed Anettes Diner.

The one place we did book was Cafe Mickey. It's pricey but if you can afford it a character meal is fantastic, really great for kids especially.

We watched the parade by outside It's A Small World. It's the start of the parade but also where the Princesses get off for a dance.

Depending on the age of your children you might want to let them dress up. My oldest spent all her time in a princess dress. She looked gorgeous, felt like she was joining in and got LOADS of attention from the characters around the park and in the parades.

Most importantly though...

Is there room in your suitcase for me? :rotfl:

Best rides - Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain, Small World(:rolleyes1 my own favourite), Buzz Lightyear in Disneyland Park. In Studios - Tower of Terror ,Crush's Coaster. They'll all have a queue (especially Crush) but they are the rides we do again and again each trip.

For resturants you can't beat Annette's Diner - if you're lucky you might even see a roller skating waiter and the nightly dance show. If you want a character interaction but not at Cafe Mickey prices, I'd recommend the tea party at Plaza gardens - its 13euros per person or 19euros a person for the birthday party. It's really good value with delicious pastries and cakes and a hot selection which included sausages, hash browns and omlettes when we where ate there.

Just remember to have FUN!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

My favourite ride is It's a Small World! It will be my second stop (after the castle) when I arrive next month!

Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Carribbean are also must, must do's!

Have a wonderful time! Make sure you see the parade on your first day (tomorrow! eeeeee!) as if you are anything like me then you'll never want to miss one!

And PLEASE PLEASE let us know how you got on when you return!! It's so much fun (and help) to get really current tips and news!! :-)

Hi Joanne!

Well, out of the restaurants we went to the only one I really wouldn't recommend is Planet Hollywood. Very cramped, food not that good, very expensive. I would recommend the Rainforest Cafe, Cafe Mickey and Annettes Diner- All very good!

One ride I must recommend is POC... I'd never done this ride before, and it's wonderful! Very exciting! And Buzz Lightyears Laser blast is awesome too....

For a better idea of the park, why not read a few of the Trip Reports at the top of the board? And the restaurant reviews too? :goodvibes

How many of you are going though? And what age ranges are we looking at? Some rides can be a bit much for younger children....

Have a wonderful trip and please let us know how you get on!
