I am taking my granddaughter who is 5 to Disneyland next month. I am from Kansas so this will be a once in a lifetime trip. She just wants to see Mickey and the princesses. Can you tell me where and what time I can guarantee seeing them? Advice appreciated

Mickey will be at his house in Toon Town

The Princesses will be at Royal Hall.

Check with Town Hall for the hours when you enter the park.

I am so jealous of those of you who live close enough to go so often! My teen DD and I often say that when we win the lottery, we are moving to Disneyland lol.

We are just grateful though that we get to go every few years Darn Australia for being so very far away from my most favorite place in the world.

No, it doesn't get old! As your kids grow, you see it through different eyes each time. Since having kids we go every year, sometimes up to 4x a year (years we've have APs). We never feel like it's been too much time spent there and often leave with a list of "to do next time". I will say, it does take the pressure off to do everything in one trip because you know you'll be back. It allows us to slow down and take in the little things - and see all the shows!

Even if you do the same rides over & over again until they're tall enough for new ones, it doesn't get old!

ETA: I may suggest trying different times of year even it means 15-18 months between trips (or 4-6 if you can swing it). We just did Springtime there for the first time and it was great, but for me, nothing beats the Holidaytime and Halloween it just amazing there!

I've been going multiple times a year for my entire life. I grew up 20 minutes from Disneyland, and we went at least once a year. Then in high school we had annual passes and went multiple times a month. That continued through college. After college I still went at least once a month. 8 years ago my husband and I moved to Colorado, and I still make it to Disneyland at least twice a year, sometimes 3 times! It never gets old! And as someone else said, the magic is new again seeing it through your children's eyes.

If this is a once in a life time trip Splurge go to The princess chr meal (5 princess) , and Minnie's( 6-12 chr roaming around) and surfs up (mickey is there)

also yes holidays at dl are the best. I love Christmas with Halloween being close second.

Annual passholders are Dlr's lifeblood so they do make a concerted effort to makes small changes to the parks on a fairly regular basis in order to keep things fresh.

We just had our first ever trip to disneyland last month, we spend 4 days in the park and loved every minute of it! My toddlers ask when we are going back every day and im in the same boat I loved it so much that I cant wait to go back. We have decided that we want to make annual trip, once every spring.

My question is to anyone who visits once a year, does it get old? Do you get tired of it? Or do you always love it just the same. I just dont want us to get there next year and be like man we did everything so its not as exciting and magical as it was the first trip?

All I can say is we were there in October and March and we would be happy to go back again tomorrow if we could. I think because different times of the year there are different experiences (Halloween time in the Fall and Christmas time for example) it helps keep things fresh. There is so much to do that it really doesn't get old, plus with the new 60th offerings there are a bunch of new things we haven't experienced yet.

After our 2012 trip, DD and I decided that we would go to DL on a yearly basis, sometimes even twice a year. We purchased Annual Passes so we are able to spend more than 5 days in the parks. Every time we go, we find something new to see and experience. With so many days in the parks, we take things at a more leisurely pace. We try to experience the different seasons and are looking forward to going for the 60th in July and during next Easter. When it is time to leave DL, it makes it easier to say 'see you soon' instead of good bye. Plus the anticipation of going again gets us all excited for our next trip!

My husband and I took our kids for their first trip in 2012 (and our first time as adults) and we have decided to make it a yearly trip ever since. I went 3 times in 2014 and with the two years' previous trips(13 days total) I can say that I have not nearly come close to seeing/doing everything DL has to offer. We have been during Easter and not experienced it all(missed the rabbit characters that were out, only did the egg hunt), during Halloweentime which is amazing! (I felt like 4 days barely covered it all), and we spent one day during the Christmas season which I know was not enough - I only saw PPH's lobby tree/decorations and missed out on a lot of the special treats, shows, and *gasp* I never got to ride IASW with the holiday overlay and it is one of my favorite rides! I feel like I could easily spend a week during Christmas and still not run out magical experiences.

I pretty much work to pay for Disney trips and hope to get an AP for myself and my two kiddos in 2016 - going to try for 4 trips in one year, one in each season I have a similar mentality as some of the previous posters that knowing that we'll be back again soon helps alleviate the stress of getting "everything" done in one trip and we can take our time, take midday breaks to keep my kids from burning out, and be completely happy with however many rides we get on or things we do in a day. I'm a huge Disney fan so I don't believe I would ever get tired of going to the parks, even if nothing changed, but there are always new things for us to do and as my kids grow their park touring interests change and it becomes a completely new experience in some ways.

It never gets old. I think for me it takes me away to this amazing & magical place. I'm a payroll accountant & my job is very stressful. I love my job but when I take a trip somewhere I want it to completely take me away from my everyday life. Also, since we have been going we try something new each trip. A new restaurant or experience or explore a part of the park that we don't spend much time in. It's always like a new adventure. This trip we're doing a character dining experience at Ariel's Grotto. We also went at Christmas time, New Years, & Halloween & are on our second year with annual passes. Its not hard to get addicted to Disney☺

This will be the boyfriend's first DL trip in a very long time. I usually go every few years with really no regularity - it really depends on the friend circle I have.

Because I am Cali myself (Northern) I could see myself and the love getting APs and easily making it a twice yearly trip (with a few other single trips on my end most like) if he loves our upcoming trip... we'll see... no counting chickens I spose

I have gone the last four years and am about to go again. There are still things I haven't done and seen. It does not get old to me. I am get more excited every time I go and I am 42! I love it and if I can find the $$$ I'm going to go whenever I can! You only live once!

I would love to go at christmas time, but how are the crowds. My main goal for our first trip was low crowds (by disneyland standards, which is never too low) so we went in late april and i dont think we would ever want to visit when that crowds are much more. We are not crowd people and i dont think waiting in line for a hour plus on rides would ever be fun or worth it in my book. When is the best time to experience the christmas stuff and disney but still miss the hugest crowds

well mid Nov and week after thanksgiving (first two weeks of Dec) are supposed to be the best crowd levels during Christmas time.
Just make sure you dont go on the race weekend (nov 15th or so and Thanksgiving week and go before dec 14th or so

Once a year has been great since my kids were 3 and 6. The year we had annual passes and went 4 times we were totally burned out and took 2 years off. We figured out that that didn't work for us. But we are back to once a year and it has been awesome! We look forward to it all year long even with my kids being 18 and 15... they can't wait for October.

Our first trip was in April 2012, and we've been back 2-3 times a year since then. So far, it hasn't gotten old. My daughter was four the first time we went, and it's absolutely fascinating to me to watch her grow up in relation to the parks and to see how her interests shift as she gets older. Starting around that age has also given us a great way to always have new things to do on each trip-- she's hit the height limit for a new ride on some trips, she's been old enough to stay up late for the night-time entertainment on other trips. It's great, and makes each trip unique.
