:confused3 I think my brain is fried because I don't understand your post....look where I am? Sorry. DH says I birthed out a little brain matter with each child. He's a funny one. :lovestruc

It's funny to see this post as this has been a big question for me and my upcoming trip to DL/DCA in August. I've been to Disneyland before but this time I'll be traveling with my best friend who hasn't been yet. We'll be arriving late on Saturday and staying that night at the Sheraton Anaheim before switching over to the GCV on Sunday. As we probably won't be able to get to DL for magic morning I figured we could get to DCA for when they opened at 9am or 9:30am (depending on when they do open) and get WOC fast passes and then go ride LMA and Soarin which is one of her fave rides in WDW.

I did ask her if it would bother her to be in Disneyland and not go to DL first. She said it really didn't bother her so we are planning to begin this trip with DCA and then head over to DL late morning. I know that it will be crowded but I think it will still be good.

Can't wait to experience Disneyland with her and get her reactions - I'm sure she'll love being in the original house that Walt built. :goodvibes

She will LOVE the GCV. OMGee, going with someone whose never been is so much fun! Have a super magical trip and please take her to Walt's park first.
:worship: <------ me begging you. :lmao:

Take a Xanax, woman! First for that day!

Sheesh! :rotfl:

:drinking1 As there isn't a Xanax smiley.

Totally blasphemous! :rotfl2:

The last time I was there, we were only going to have an hour before we had to go over to DCA to catch World of Color but I DRAGGED my husband at 150mph into Disneyland to go on Pirates and Haunted Mansion first.

It's simply not done!

I bow to you, pancake of epicness! The Dobies go on Pirates and Mansion before we even pee! :drinking1

I've never gone into DCA first for the trip. But usually maybe the third morning of our trip, I wake up with the alarm to go to DL, then tell my travel companions, "You know, starting the day at DCA is a perfectly legitimate option." So we go back to sleep for a bit. (This happened in June 2009 even WITH mid-afternoon breaks. :) )

I'm going to steal that: it's a perfectly legitimate option. :thumbsup2

I'm planning on my first trip to DLR this September and right now I'm planning on going into DCA first. My situation is a little bit different though. I'm flying in Saturday afternoon for the Disneyland Half Marathon on Sunday. So my first step in a park will be when we enter DCA during the race. After the race I'm planning on returning to DCA first. California Screamin' is scheduled to go into refurb on Sept. 6. So, I want to make sure to ride it a couple of times before it closes. I also want to catch Fantasmic that evening. So it makes since to start in DCA then hop to DL later in the day.

My apologies to those who look like this when reading my post: :scared1:

 That would be me!! lol

Disneyland FIRST is always a must!! We'll be arriving there in the early afternoon and I have been contemplating getting a 3 day park hopper instead of a 2 day only because we could go to the parks that first evening. We could take a stroll in Disneyland or DCA but then that would take away the awe of walking into Disneyland on that very first morning after not having been there in a while, getting butterflies in your stomach at the very sight of the place :cloud9:

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! ;)

Very cool, completely understandable and acceptable. Good luck on the race! :goodvibes Screamin' is a total blast- don't miss it!

I am with you 110% :thumbsup2 Nothing beats that first early morning stroll down Main St; streets still a little damp and everything all shiny. I must end and begin at Disneyland. :cloud9:
