I had my balance transferred to my old card. I swear it said I would receive an email confirmation and at that time my rewards card could be used. I never received an email. I just checked the sight and it shows I transferred it. Is my card valid now? There wasn't anything else I needed to do, was there? Thanks.

Lisa

If it shows online that the reward dollars have been transferred to your card, you are good to go. I never received a confirmation when I made transfers.

That is true...you should be all set. I never got an email neither...

I have a rewards card that will expire 12/04. It has a grand total of $0.63 left on it!! I have about $60 accumulated and since we'll be @ WDW the 3rd week of December, I thought I'd download the reward dollars to that card. It would pay for a meal while we're there. The only thing that concerns me is that's cutting it kind of close! (I'm assuming since there no date listed, it would expire the 31st of that month  !!)

Might be easier to just order a new card, but I hate to waste 63 cents!!

So, what would you do? Thanks! :D

Laura

Here is what you do!

Put the $60 on a new card that will expire some time next year.

Bring the NEW card and the OLD card with 63 cents to WDW. You can use the old card even if it doesn't have a full dollar on it. There are many small purchases or large, if you want, you can apply it to then spend cash or the other card for the rest. For example: a cookie, an ORlando Sentinel, candies at World Showcase.

Have a great trip!

Question. I have yet to transfer my Rewards to a Card, I plan to do this for our July 2005 Disneyladn trip. Does the card itself expire or just the amount on it? It makes no sense for the card to expire? (but then again lots of things don't make sense) So when I get my card in July it will expire in say Dec '05. So I have to get a new card? Odd. And another thing that doesn't make sense it that my the earliest my rewards will expire is March 2007 but if I transfer them they expire sooner?

disneychrista,

My actual card has an expiration date on it. It is weird, and a waste I think to not be able to reuse the card. Your points will expire faster if you transfer them. I kept mine in my account until a few weeks before we left.

Wonder if you can do a "reverse" cash out :D I plan on using some of my rewards during our july 05 trip. But I am affraid that if I transfer too many they will expire before I can use them. Guess I will have to be very cautious on how many I tranfer over.

The disney rewards expire 5 years from the month you earned them. The points I earned in Sept. 2004, expire in Sept. 2009. If you get transfer your disney rewards to a rewards card in July 2005, that card should not expire until December 2006. To avoid having extra rewards left on my card, I plan to use it for the most expensive items like hopper tickets, a cruise or a stay at a deluxe disney resort.

Couldn't you just buy Disney Dollars with the full dollars left on your card that's going to expire?

Yes, you can. I did it a few months ago with no problems.

You can also transfer part of the rewards to the reward card before you leave. If you run out before the end of your trip you can go to DTD and have more transfered to the card. I think you go to Guest Relations to have this done. Someone else chime in here to make sure that's where it's done.
